  1. Hi guys,

I thought for sure there was a supply check list pinned on this forum but I don't see one. Anyone have suggestions for items I will need for my TT on the 16th? So far all I have is the dail soap I have to wash with before the surgery. I have a power leather recliner that should be here on saturday. I have bought a few nightgowns and Pj pants but Target didn't have any sweats so i'll go look for some later today. For entertainment I have netflix and a couple of books. Do I need a chair for the shower? A toliet extender (not sure what they really call it)?

I think i've read on here something about a gel compression garment and bookmarked it on my old computer. Anyone know where I can find it?

Anyways, your suggestions would be great! Thank you!

  2. It took me forever to get rid of my clothes and I was so cheap I even kept wearing them. My clothes were size 22/24 and I was down to a size 18. My sister gave me a bunch of her clothes so I finally got rid of them but I sold them on craigslist and used the money to buy some new clothes from Target (since they are cheap and I was still using). Now i'm selling my size 18's so I can buy some size 14's. So I suggest selling them on craigslist!

  3. I drink with my meals but it doesn't seem to make me hungry or PB. I eat three times a day with no Snacks. When I first decided to look into lapband I was at 236, day of surgery I was at 226, and today i'm at 194. I feel my weight loss has been going well so unless I the weight loss slows down or it makes me PB i'll probably continue to drink during meals.

Edit: I forgot to mention I got banded on March 27, 2008

  4. My post op diet was 3-4 days of clear liquids then mushies/soft foods for 1 week, then solid foods as tolerated. Everything has been going down fine so you shouldn't be too worried. All you have to do is make sure you chew really well. Trust me this is a good thing, because for me I didn't start getting my energy back until I started eating solid foods again.

  5. I LOVED the depo, after the 3rd month I stopped having periods all together. I'm thinking maybe i'll check out the ring because I'm afraid of forgetting to take the pill. Although, I guess i'm going to have to get used to taking meds after the surgery anyways... hmm i'll have to put some thought into it.

  6. Linksmom: Your story sounds all too familiar, I believe this is exactly what my sister is going through. And anytime I try talking to her about it she gets very defensive and doesn't want to talk about it. My whole family is worried for her but she wont listen to us. I hope one day she is strong as you and leaves that jerk. Grats on starting a new life and more healthy life.

  7. I'm getting banded soon and i'm starting to think of birth control. My periods have always been irregular, the doctor said it's probably due to the fact i've always been over weight. When me and my husband first got together I was on depo for 3 years, and i've been off for about 1 year and 9 months (only 3 or 4 light periods). Anyways, we want to have a baby but the doctor recommends that I wait a year first. So my question is, what birth control are you using? Does the pill work ok?

  8. Tomorrow is my pre-op and i'm starting to get really nervous and excited! I bought all the recommended items and then some that was listed on a thread I saw a week or so ago. Tomorrow is going to be my last day before I go on a clear liquid diet. So i'm sitting here wondering what will my last solid meal be? What was your guys last solid meal before going on the liquid diet? Thankfully I only have to do a liquid diet the day before surgey! :)

  9. Hello, Anyone from Fresno California area? Last week Friday day all my paper work was submitted to insurance. I'm crossing my fingers that I am approved! If approved, Dr. Felix will be doing my lap-bad, he seems super nice. Anyways, after i'm banded I will be looking for an exercise partner. Anyone up for it?
