  1. Those "thick legs" look like pure muscle!!!!! Gorgeous legs! Now tell yourself you have beautiful legs, please. [emoji4] congrats! I'm 18/20 now. Haven't had surgery. Hoping I don't have issue with skin, really I don't think I will. Your journey gives me so much hope!!! Thank you for sharing. [emoji120]? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I've had multiple surgeries. Call me loco, but I didn't have fears going in and I feel the same way with the sleeve. I don't even have a fear of gaining anything back, cause I won't. Just as @sleeveme17 says: "Prayer and just asking the Lord to order our steps. Faith trust and believe" <----EXACTLY THIS.
  3. We are about the same stats, but I'm a little older than you. I have no co-morbidities and my surgeon advised that it is probably best for me to go the sleeve route. Which I was leaning towards anyway. Less complications all over for me.
  4. I hope your pity party is over, but like @mylighthouse said, you already paid for your chocolate indulgence. I too, hope Jasper will be better soon. And you too @_Kate_! Ya'll both get to feeling better, you hear?
  5. Voice is lower or higher? I haven't heard this before. I'm interested to see if anyone else has had this too.
  6. Meijers....haven't heard of that store for 25 years! Used to live in OH. This is off topic, obviously...but I really enjoyed this: "your success is not dependent upon my support. If you fail, it's not the forums or sleeves fault. It's yours." RIGHT ON!
  7. You're going to rock your journey, you know that? Wow.
  8. I miss seeing the statuses people post on their profile that was listed on the right side, bottom of the main page. It was easier to see what was up with everyone who doesn't post to a forum. But I do enjoy the new look.
  9. From time to time I think about what it's going to mean for me not to be going out to eat with my husband on date nights and my family on Sundays after church. We don't go out too often, but I do still think about all the money I can save, and still even go out to eat but enjoy a few bites, but mostly find alternative things to do other than food. Walk on the beach (yeah, I live by the beach), concerts, ferry rides, rodeo, cirque de soleil, outlet malls (definitely doing this)! I'm training my mind now that food is fuel, sure, we can enjoy it, but it's not what is going to control me. I'll be controlling it.
  10. definitely increase it. You've got the right idea about gaining by starvation mode. We aren't made to live a 1200 calorie diet forever. I've posted that the 1200 calorie diet is for someone who is 4'2" and 80lbs (and that is to maintain). I can probably say almost everyone here isn't that height and weight. Otherwise, you'll be right back to where you started, yo-yo dieting. You lose, you gain a lot. You lose a little, you gain a whole lot more! you have to take risk to go higher in calories, until you really understand the science of why and how it works. But here's a website that, once again, I've shared with others here about people stopping the 1200 calorie diet to eat properly for their body, height/weight/activity level. www.eatmore2weighless.com Check it out and congratulations on your getting married!!! Marriage rocks...at least mine does! Many blessings to you hon!
  11. I'd think the chewables would make you full, did they? Or even the pills, for that matter. I'm almost weary of taking pills knowing that I have to sip, especially in the beginning.
  12. Do you find your bloodwork to be just fine with the patches? I've been looking in to these....
  13. I want to say I've had kefir before, but I just don't recall. Thanks for the info on the gummies, I'll look into those too. I only really started drinking kombucha for the gut health. I was having a lot of trouble with my digestive system when I started and found them to really help, the taste was great too (certain brands). I'm going to look up the gummies. I would rather just stay away from carbonation altogether after surgery anyhow. Thank you again!!
  14. Sorry. Not trying to be offensive by any means. This is why I don't and won't be weighing myself (I'll let the doc do this). Stalls will happen. Focus on how good you feel and how the clothes are feeling bigger, etc. Focus on doing what the doc has given you to do. Put your mind to other matters than numbers on a scale. Save yourself the stress and headache of worrying. Many blessings on your journey!!!
  15. Hon, I'll be praying for you. Let's hope the doc and derm have a change of mind and heart about it, ok.
  16. look like i'm going to be making these! Thanks for sharing!

    AGREED!!!
  18. bahahahajajajaja! LOL You did awesome though--all tough and victorious! And to start early...whew! That's true/tough commitment! Good job!
  19. Is it too late to get a second opinion? Is it possible to see another doc/dermatologist?
  20. @veromichelle, did you get your date already?
  21. I think like this too. I better get off my caffeine sooner than later since I haven't gotten to the liquid diet stage. Many blessings on your journey! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Started my process in Jan. Mine should be in April or May. Have no idea on a date. [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. There is a group called EAT MORE 2 WEIGH LESS. Check it out. There are hundreds of reviews of people who went from 1200 to 2100 calories and saw a weight loss. It takes faith, courage, and yes, a risk to the t it out. But it does work. I've done it before, but didn't make it my lifestyle, thus I gained weight. I was eating too little and gaining weight. My doc kept getting on to me about it. Anyway, I upped my calories to 2300 a day while I was lifting weights. My body was changing and losing inches (which is, in my opinion, a much better gauge than actual pounds). Currently I'm pre-op and doing the same thing. This time I'm not tracking calories but I know I'm eating as much as I need to be. I'm also lifting weights again. So, yes, it works. Have faith. 24. 1200 calorie diet isn't meant for long term, EVER! Unless you're 4'2" and 80lbs (for maintenance). Hardly think anyone here is that, or even that to goal. The nutritionist are right and the whole set point thing is right. It's where we are physically that matters. Having surgery actually starts the resetting of your metabolism, so it's correct. Eating less because you are getting smaller is correct too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. Personally I do maybe 60-80. I would do more only if on weight days. I've read that the body really cannot digest more than 35 grams at a time. So, maybe 35 in the morn and 35 in the evening is probably the best bet. I'll need to find the science/study. Anything more than 35 is basically a waste. Let me find it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I could also be wrong too. The internet is so full of contradicting science. Good grief. Best bet, do what your doc says. I'm sticking to the minimum. It's always been just fine for me and my muscle building.
