Protein shakes with 7 grams sugar is this too much?
What's a measly 7g sugar gonna do with the 30g of protein? Follow your protein and all else should fall in place....but Iearned to not count anyway. Hasn't affected my weight loss anyway. That's my story...

May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
I've always known to have a healthier alternative at fast food places, but I usually always caved to something I shouldn't have. Now, I'd do what you did; but haven't had any since surgery. Great job by the way. Its amazing how much walking you're getting in. You should probably see a big difference number wise. I need to get in gear. This weekend has been busy but not as busy (exercise wise) as I'd like to have it. Hope you have a great morning jog! ?

What should be my goal weight?
I'm 5'6" and 38. I just picked 145, just cause it fits in the healthy range. But I'm fine at 160 or so. Depends also on how much you decide to put in regarding muscle. Although I'm aiming for a lower number (to get healthy), that number won't be my actual goal.

stretching exercises
The above poster wrote what I would have written! Same story. Just be mindful and listen to your body.

Who does races?
Ditto what everyone else says! I am not doing any running until I lose some more weight, but I am signing up to do a Tough Mudder next year. Have you considered one of them, maybe? There's no race, just a lot of fun, mud, and obstacle courses. LOL Training is involved with this as well. Have fun with your races!!

Didn't tell my sister
@kheter55 I read my sister all over your post. She's 40. I actually don't even know where she's at. But anyway, I didn't tell her either in the beginning. I did at one point and nothing really good came out of her mouth. She's bipolar too, etc...a lot of mental problems. The only thing that I can encourage you about is...move on, and to move on is to forgive your sister for the things she's said. You can do this inside; doesn't mean you have to tell her this--most likely she wouldn't take it right anyway. This will allow you to have peace. She's your sister...love her but it doesn't mean you have to talk/share with her. Just don't hold the grudge; it'll help you in the long run. Blessings to you hon.

May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
Good morning ya'll. Today's agenda, work on the kitchen (yep, still doing it). Take the kids to the pool for a couple of hours (that'll be my workout). Come back and work on the kitchen some more. Fix a yummy plant based dinner (not sure what). Go grocery shopping and have my brother and a few friends come over tonight for some games/fellowship. Oh, and go meet up with a few ladies who all just had the sleeve done recently at the bookstore. I'm excited to hear how they are doing. Hope you all have a fantastic and blessed day!!!

Oh and the bras...yeah, very expensive. I think I'll stick to walmart ones for now until I reach maintenance. Im happy my cups are going down too. Totally don't like or miss being heavy chested. I always had headaches and it gets way too hot underneath the breast. It was just awful.

That's the spirit!!!!! I'm so happy to hear that. The scale always goes up when I'm doing weights, etc. Then it'll start going back down. Muscle is being built, yeah!!

Isn't that just nice? I'm happy for you. I wore a large shirt for the first time in a long time the other day. It was a tad snug, but loose enough for me to slide on and move in. I'm not advancing to large indefinitely right now, but it was a nice change.

Bread Products!
I have COMPLEX carbs on my plan and they don't interfere with how I'm losing weight. Key....COMPLEX carbs. Tortillas, breads, rolls...usually are made with simple carbs--those will hinder loss and can cause cravings. But COMPLEX carbs are not bad for you. I've said it once before somewhere...if you're eating a bowl of oatmeal (not the store bough packaged kind) and or even lentil soup, are you still craving more oatmeal and lentils afterwards? No. Big difference between complex and simple. But again, answering your question, I'd stay away from the simple carbs for a while (till maintenance even) and that's if you're working it off like @Introversion does.

Whole grains?
I don't know if there's any difference with whole grains between RNY and the sleeve. But whole grains are good for you. They're complex carbs. They break down slow and your body processes them differently than simple carbs, they have fiber, protein, etc. My doc/nut encourage eating complex carbs...of which I do. Hasn't played any negative part in my weight loss journey either. Many of the whole grains have protein in them too, if that's an issue you may have thought of. Quinoa, Amaranth, Lentils, etc. These are great grains to eat. When in doubt, ask your nut.

Bread
I haven't really had any cravings until yesterday, all I wanted was pork rinds. I'm in my 6th week post op. I think the longer you go without the bread, it'll get easier (and less cravings for it). Hang in there....there are alternative ways of having bread....have you tried making the cloud "bread"? I've never made it myself, but supposedly it's good...slap some low fat cheese or something in it and have yourself a cheese toast sandwich. Now, the wings...bake them. Don't eat the skin...and use some hot sauce (if it doesn't give you heartburn). Might just help with those cravings.

Shoes make a HUGE impact. I replace mine probably every three to four months. I've had an injury due to wrong shoes too. My podiatrist was upset I was wearing Sketchers. I'm wearing them now. LOL Anyway, no shoes that can do a backwards or forward bend. They're the worse...even though they feel good. Don't kid yourself about me being more fit...LOL!!!!!! May or may not be, the fact is, you're running and enjoying yourself. Now, I might be able to beat you in arm wrestling, but hey, that's another sport that we don't have to do. HAHA! I too used to run during my skinny days. I would do about 5 miles/day, 3-4 times/week. I enjoyed it a lot. Now, why did I stop? SMH. I've done quite a bit of 5k runs too. Those are always fun. You should go to your local running shoe store (if you've got one) and sign up for a 5K now. It'll push you to keep on going!!! I'll be your biggest cheerleader...alongside your lovely family.

Nope. Not at all. I do eat fresh cherries though. Haven't had any issues with the sugar content. I won't go overboard with it though, but it's great to have a bite of something and not get dumping. Maybe my stomach is healing pretty good to forego the dumping issue. ??? I don't care to check it, although I wasn't affected with the bite.

What are you saying?
Go educate yourself first about wls and then come back to me if you want to talk. (I did that with my brother. He came back and says "I'll support you")

May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
Have to be out of the house early today, I had my husband wake me up at 5am to workout. I woke up feeling pretty good actually. Not too tired or sluggish. I did my workout video, showered, and then got my girls up to get ready. I'll be focusing on my fluids once again today. In fact, I need to do this everyday. I won't worry about what I'm not eating, but what I may not be getting in fluid wise. I had an awful dream that my throat was so dry and I couldn't find a store to get a drink. Now, I'm pretty sure that dream was because my throat was pretty dry last night!!!! It was awful. I don't want a dream like that again. LOL Water it is today!!! OH....as I was working out in my pj's (best part of not having to go anywhere), my bottoms slipped down! LOL NSV!!! Ya'll have a blessed day! I'll check back in later.

I think I'll start this when I get some more weight off. My knees and feet wouldn't be able to handle jogging just yet. Almost though. How's it going? Do you like it? Do you think you'll keep it up?

Totally not wls surgery worthy....but the bite I had was awesome. Fresh cherries are in and $2.48 a pound. My family LOVES fresh cherries. I have them ready for their picking in the fridge. But they're not eating them as fast as usual, so I pitted about a pound of them and made a cherry cobbler for them. Of course they had vanilla ice cream on top! (I'm not an ice cream fan, so, it didn't affect me any). ? Now, if I could only figure out a way to make a very healthy version.....

I would say if it keeps on, then call like Apple mentioned. Otherwise, I too have days when I feel like I'm stuffed after one ounce. It could be a whole slew of things, eating too fast, maybe eating too closely together, etc. I focused on my water one day and seems like everything went back to normal. Today I did lousy on water again, and felt the very same. So, in my opinion, and my experience, it's my lack of fluids. How is your fluid intake?
