    Losing inches no weight

How do u lose inches and no weight . Is this just muscle weight? Also what's a day like for eating whose almost 6 weeks out? Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App In my experience, it's always muscle. In three months (my dieting days), I weight trained, and lost 4 lbs, but I lost 3 inches all around my body. Best way to change your shape! But if you're not gaining muscle, I wouldn't have any idea how you can lose inches and no weight. ....I'm weight training again, pre-op, in just a couple of weeks I feel a difference in clothes again. But I can probably guarantee you I haven't lost anything or maybe even gained a pound or two. This is why I don't weigh myself.

    Pre-op coffee question

I'm trying to cut my caffeine now before my pre-op diet and I put decaf coffee over ice with a scoop of vanilla Protein. It's so so. I haven't gone everyday with it just yet. Keep telling myself to stop buying regular coffee. Just so hard when Chameleon makes some AWESOME cold brew coffees!!! I will for sure abide by the rules when the time comes though and suffer my headaches for a few days if I have to.

    Air Fryer

I looked up hundreds of reviews last night on Walmart.com. Apparently, they're the real deal. Especially the Farber brand. I'm going to get one myself.

I do NOT want to tell my dad.

I'm a step-mom and I just can't fathom being so cruel to my step-daughter like that. I'm so sorry hon that you had/have to endure that. Like others had mentioned, this is for YOU, not anyone else, regardless of relation. Do what you feel you need to, but just remember, whether obese or not, your step mom has an issue with herself that she projects towards you. If you need to tell your dad, do so, just mentally prepare yourself. OR, have a good talk with your dad about how your stepmom has always treated you and you don't want her abuse anymore. He needs to love you even more and do something about it.
  9. So, I told my boss I'm having surgery. The only reason why I chose to tell her is because it's only me, her, and her husbad (the owner) in the office, AND me having to be out for a couple of weeks maybe, I think she should have at least know something. I completely misjudged her!!! She's always eating right and doing fitness competitions. I thought maybe she might have the attitude of "why can't you just eat right and exercise?" But she didn't. She lit up and was super excited for me. She also knows all about it. Apparently her sis-n-law had it done. What a big relief!

Zombie outbreak in New York City

It's a little comical how the article stated the people as victims. Unless they were forced to smoke it, I don't believe they should be called victims. Victims are domestic abused, child abused, etc. Other than that, any addiction can kill. But the synthetic one is just ghastly. We've got a problem here in my city with it too, especially teens. We always hear of someone dying from it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Thanks for the idea. I'm going to check it out. I love plain chicken anyway (with salt and pepper), I bet it's even better the way you explained. Yum! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Fit bit

I bought a charge HR some time back. Had it on my wrist and my whole arm was in pain. Wasn't too tight or anything. Then I put it on the other wrist, thinking maybe my arm was just upset about something, and that other arm started to hurt too. Then i returned it and did some research. If you've got nerve damage, pain, carpal tunnel....most likely you will have pain. Thousands of others had to return them for the same reasons I had to. Something to do with the darn heart rate monitor. So, I can't have one. I was so bummed out. Hope it works great for you!!

    Underwear

Oh my G! I busted out laughing with this one. Me too!!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App The struggle is real (and so is the sneaky tug to pull the darn things back up)! Don't we know it!! haha! Sometimes I wonder to even bother wearing them. LOL

    Underwear

Good for you!! The only thing I won't be buying is underwear. I kept all of mine that I bought ten years ago. It was just a phase that I bought tons of pretty panties and never got around to wearing them, although I was way smaller then and could wear them. So, one less cost for me. Yay! 16. I'm pretty sure I'll lose some weight before surgery as I'm trying to change my eating/patterns/habits now. So far so good. Still pretty hard to try and sip throughout the day; and not to drink with or right after a meal. but I'll get there. I'm digging my food choices though; been doing some different recipes. My kids won't try them though; so it's either a PB sandwich or cereal for them. I refuse to make anything that they can't because they're being picky. I've been back to my weight training. I can feel the difference; best feeling ever. Problem is, I feel so great working out and then I have to walk by the full length body mirror in the gym. UGH. At least it's a reminder to keep going.

  17. See i did not have to do all this i walked in and talked to her about 20 mins she asked me about my life that was it Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App Not everyone will have the same; I just posted these as a general reference; doesn't hurt to look them over anyway. Good stuff to think about.

    Almost a year post-op

If people are noticing your change and you've gone down just two pounds, it means you're losing inches. Are you doing weights? If so, you're gaining muscle. I haven't had my surgery yet but there was a period of time when I was focused on working out. I was doing a lot of weight training (am doing it now too). I did it for three months and I lost 3 inches all around and lost only four lbs. went down a size in clothes too. In my personal opinion, the number on the scale doesn't justify how much effort you've put in to your journey. It's a general idea. But the better part is muscle gain (cause muscle burns away the fat). Also, if the scale doesn't budge for awhile (stalls) recalculating the amount of calories you need (more calories for the amount of activity your body is doing to burn energy) to drop the last few might be what you need as well. 1200-1300 is pretty low for more activity and also not meant for long term. Figuring out your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) & BMR (basal metabolic rate) for your body type (height, weight) and factoring in your activity level will give you a better sense of where you need to be calorie wise for weight loss. Here's a site that can better explain it all. https://www.iifym.com/bmr-calculator/ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. I hate the idea of counting calories. I will count Protein, sugar, and fat grams for the pre and post op diets, but calories, nah. Personally it's just added work that I don't want to live my life by. I like the idea of eating to contentment and only when it's stomach hunger. Anyone with success doing it this way? Besides, when my tummy is able to tolerate a plant based diet, I don't think I'll need to count. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. It's only bad if you don't have a clear sense of whether or not you are meeting your daily Protein goal. Jamie, I love how logical you are. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
