    Ugh....6 months?!?!

I thought you were writing about me! LOL I lost inches but no weight (ok, maybe 4 pounds) but that was all in three months time. My doc says it wasn't coming off fast enough and so she sent me to the bariatric surgeon's office. I am thankful I have no co-morbidities, but the morbidly obese factor is enough to go through with this to prevent those from happening. I, too, have two small kids....it'll be the day when they ask "Mommy, where's your big belly?" So waiting for that day!
  4. I love the new format!  It is so much easier and more streamlined.  Nice!

  5. @mylighthouse thank you for sharing this, I'm pre-op and I am definitely reminded to focus on my Water intake. Many blessings on your journey hon!

    Expected Weight Loss

Maybe miscommunication on their part? 25-40 in the first few weeks/months...?? Sounds more like it, right? I'm 5'6" and I'm pretty muscular too, but my pre-obese days, I was 155ish. I've been overweight about 8 years too, almost the same amount of time as you. That's about 100lbs to take off for me. You're only an inch taller than me and if you've got good muscle mass, then for sure, you should be dropping 90lbs to your goal weight. Try not to be bummed hon, I think they were wrong too.

    Ugh....6 months?!?!

Stronger and healthier, but no weight loss? Sounds to me you added muscle mass and that's always a GREAT thing! ...you know...the muscle burns the fat. I probably bet you lost some inches too.

    Boobs !

Thank You ! I was worried about scaring too but my skin heals really well and my surgeon is top class. My tummy tuck scar has healed really well and should be a teeny silver line when I have fully recovered. Make sure you post about the other techniques as I am sure others would benifit about knowing that there are options to consider Kate Will do!

    Boobs !

Looks great! I can't wait to have mine done. It'll be a long while though. There is a guy in Houston, Horndeski, that has a technique with no vertical scars from the nipples down. It's pretty cool. Of course, to be it won't matter where the scarring is, as long as they're in place and not sagging anymore, I'll be happier. Lol. Still going to check it out for the other techniques. Congrats! Enjoy your new boobs.

    I DID IT!

You're experience/story brought tears of joy!!! God bless you and keep you hon. You are an inspiration to all of us, no matter our walks. You've overcame the biggest obstacle of all, your mind. For that, I applaud you! Standing ovation! All the rest will fall in to place, as you have done, getting on the bike and continuing with it. I speak peace, healing, and joy over you!
  11. Well, I'm pretty excited about my arms! I'll have to learn to upload a video later so I can share. I've been doing heavy weights these days and building up my muscle I had lost. I've always had bigger arms (thanks dad for the muscular build) but they're huge now because of the added weight. Well, when I flex, I don't have much wiggling at all. That's a great sign!!!! I'm going to continue with my weights. I love doing them anyway. Hopefully I can get a video to show what I'm talking about.

  13. A few more days now, huh? :)

  14. So, I log on most days to see what's going on. Perchance there might be a question/answer that I haven't seen yet. I'm not complaining, everything is informative, but a lot of it is redundant, simply because there are new people everyday and they're all getting started as I did too. I probably asked the same questions that has been answered over and over. I guess at this point (even though I'm not even post op) is to help with my new found knowledge of the gastric sleeve surgery. But it'll mostly be on the surface since I have yet to experience the surgery and post op life. Only then I'll be able to share in depth. Not sure why I wanted to share this, but I hope I can be of some assistance and that it will be sound advice, not advice made without educating myself first and sharing experiences. Ya'll have a great day!

Sharing information is good. Someone said you can't offer advice unless you have had the surgery, well to me thats poppycocks. Have all Doctors been ill? Have all Dentists had to have teeth filled/removed? and on and on. There used to be a woman here called TheCandidate. She and I were both pre op but she had researched the procedure in and out and had been here for a long time before we had surgery. She was still able to support people and offer her thoughts. So stay and comment when you can or want to !! It can matter such a lot :-)

Thanks _Kate_! It is poppycocks, isn't it? You've brought up great points, I.e. Doctors, dentists. i will continue to share and whether anyone wants the advise, knowledge or not, that's up to them. But I usually always try and make sure to have a relatable story or science behind why something works and doesn't work. Thank you again for your kind words.

    February Sleevers

Did you get in for February? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App Are you still set for February 13th? I'm on my liquid diet. What about you? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App Did you ever schedule your surgery? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App No. Alas, my PCP's documentation wasn't consistent and so I'm starting over. I'm more likely going to be in April/May. But it'll be here before I know it.

    CIGNA - supervised diet requirement

That's technically correct. The first appt doesn't really count. I too have Cigna and have all the same requirements. My first appt with the nutritionist is when it started. I have three more to finish. For a total of four. When you think about it, the first to second appt, is one month. The second to third is two months and the third to fourth appt is three months. But if your pcp was documenting your weight loss attempts for a consecutive three months (four appts) than that would count. I went from March to December, but none of the documented appointments were consecutive, so I'm just starting over at the surgeons office. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. Wow. That's just terrible. She's got a problem. What happened to loving unconditionally? Even if we don't agree on something someone does or whatever, and we love them, we should always be there for them regardless. Sorry, but I wouldn't call her a best friend anymore. Just my opinion. I make mine similar to yours. I omit the lemon and use honey. (For now). I love extra cayenne though. Great drink! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Finally stared to hit the gym!

Hey lady, I just finished an awesome weight training session. Heavy weights today. Like you, I feel great afterwards and I feel great when I wake up. I've always enjoyed hitting up the weights (I do some cardio). Because I'm pre-op, I'm focusing on strength now more than ever. I'd love to hear how you have been doing from time to time! Keep it up! ????‍♀️ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
