    Scared and Excited.....

I relate to you to the biggest T. I'm rarely ever in pics and I absolutely hate to be in them. But, we are getting a new lease in life. Let's embrace the changes that we are making. Yours is tomorrow, I may have another few months or so. I have been putting on the minimal makeup (blush, lipstick, and a little mascara) and it's been the biggest pickup for me. I feel pretty and it goes on so fast. Do something small to start...makeup, or even just get your hair done as the previous poster suggested. I still hide in big frumpy clothes, but even with makeup I still feel much better. Congrats on your journey though. I pray nothing but blessings over you. Dehydration?

A sure sign of dehydration is diarrhea. Not sure if it changes because of the surgery (I would think not), but be mindful of it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    3.5 Weeks Away From Surgery

Your journey so far sounds like what I expect mine to be. But I made the decision a few weeks later. I'm glad it's all coming together for you! Seems like you've got a great support system too. Many blessings on your journey! Keep us posted. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. So, I'm being proactive. It's that impatience in me. Although I've opted to just be as patient as I can be (with the wonderful advice of others), I did take the initiative to call my insurance and get some more questions answered. I was told that my three months on a weight loss drug supervised by my doctor counts as one of the requirements; but I've got about 6 months under my doc regarding weight loss. My bmi is over the min requirement, so I've got that settled. Just need the psych evaluation and the go ahead from the bariatric surgeon. I'm thinking I won't need to wait so long anymore. I'm getting excited here. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No where else to vent

It takes a lot to share something like this. My heart aches for you hon. May comfort and peace just envelop every part of your being right now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I don't even start my very first appointment until the end of Jan 2017. Seems like so long from now. Has anyone shopped around for surgeons? I am going to where my doc referred but I know there has got to be more available and maybe can get in faster....or go with the referral? Or am I just too impatient? Shopping for surgery

So it's probably best to stick with the one I got referred to then. He's got great ratings too. I wasn't thinking ahead really. As much as I'd love to get in there and get the ball rolling, a great surgeon and team is probably better. I've already called my insurance company several months ago. The policy hasn't been revised since and I'm covered. I think I've even got all of my dietary requirements covered already too, so now, I just wait till the appt. Shopping for surgery

Thank you for your kind words. I had to chuckle with the "take advantage of all the pre op education" only because besides actually having it done, I've been doing this (researching, learning) for almost two years now. Lol. I guess another month isn't too bad. Ha! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can I lie - hernia op?

I'm with clc9. Employers aren't allowed to ask what for anyway. I'll be doing what clc9 advised. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I absolutely LOATHE artificial sweeteners! I will not eat or drink anything with them in it. (They give me nasty headaches and taste really bad to me). Has any one had success with eliminating these out of the pre/post op diets? People are eating sugar free jello/puddings, Crystal Light, etc. If I want something sweet, would it be ok to replace with a 1/2 teas of honey or agave syrup or something??? If not, I'll forego anything sweet if I have to.

    Disappointed and pissed

From what I've read on other forums, appeal the decision. Call Cigna and be persistent. If you've got all the right documentation, it should be good. I've got Cigna too, but haven't gotten to that point where you're at yet. I hope it clears up quickly for you. Hang in there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I've never heard of the product. Sounds chemically. Lol. Nonetheless, I'll look it up. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. Thank for sharing this. Even though the whole story revolves around making a lifestyle change, I learned about not drinking while eating. Guess it's something to start work on now...just may be one of the hardest changes I'd have to do. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
