Hi y'all and Merry Christmas from South Texas! It was a ridiculous 81 degree weather here today. That shouldn't be allowed! Other than that, I have yet to be sleeved and hope it to be early this next year. Currently I am dealing with bursitis in my hip and it is painful. Now, I know anyone, no matter age, size, can get it, but I'd like to know if any of you who have been sleeved with bursitis have felt the pain alleviate or go away??? I'm wondering if my extra weight is a factor. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Backed out last minute, but I'm back again...

"I'm not going to end up like my mother". This pretty much sums up why I'm doing WLS; she's got a long list of problems due to her weight. I don't have any co-morbidities either with a bmi of 41; 38 years old. I know that if I continue I'm risking developments of such and I have very young children too. Congratulations to all of us who are making this decision to be healthy. -
Anyone else the waiting is killing them?
Newme17 replied to nandy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
After almost two years, I've finally decided, for the third and last time, last month to do this. Since, I've been trying to contain my impatience. I even called to see if they can reschedule me sooner if someone had decided to cancel. But now that I'm about two weeks out from even my first initial consult, I've finally settle down and am waiting as best as I can. Until then, I'm sharing with others my plans and getting support. -

I learned this about three years ago as well. Too much at one time won't do any good. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I heard someone using Gerber baby Water. Something to do with the lack of added minerals, etc. makes it soothing on the stomach. might be worth a try. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

$2000 max for the year, but because mine will reset come Jan, I'll be paying it all up front. At least that's how I think it works. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Samples would be great. Although I've heard only good things about it. Just trying to wrap my mind around it not tasting like meat. lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I haven't even thought to make some, but after hearing 90 hours...don't think it's going to happen. Ha! I'm gonna order some and try them out. I only snapped a pic of what I found. Happened to be sweet. I love savory stuff though. I think I'll try both. This will be a good alternative then, as you've suggested to take a break from shakes. I'm trying to go plant based but am willing to do the bone broths for added Protein. Thanks for your input! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Fellow poster, Msujester, told me about Dr Weiner. I ordered his book A POUND OF CURE on Amazon. It makes total sense to me. I'm currently reading and taking notes, as to what I want to ask the surgeon when I go in. If my surgeon seems okay with it, I'm going to implement changes. If he isn't, I'll follow his orders and then implement once I'm in maintenance or can handle it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Absolutely agree with you. Food is a Drug
Newme17 replied to Treadmillwalker's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Absolutely the truth. I don't believe I had an emotional eating problem until I got married (not my hubby's fault...lol) and was stuck on bed rest for the most of my first pregnancy. Talk about BOREDOM!!!! Then I didn't go back to my healthy lifestyle I once had. In short, I changed. Not the same person I used to be. So, now I can totally relate to emotional eating and how hard it is to break that bondage. I do love to workout though. No problem on that side...except for timing. Anyway, thanks for posting this. I'm gonna post this somewhere I can see everyday. Most likely the kitchen! Ha! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
