    A) To your insurance company, you are not an individual. They cater to the least common denominator to make sure everyone has your nutrition knowledge - in their minds, it's better to over-educate you than under-educate someone else. Given some of the questions I've seen on here over the last several months, some people still aren't getting enough education.

To your quote I left above - ever think that's the point? A six month wait is a giant staring contest. If you blink first and quit, they win because they don't have to pay. They hope people are overwhelmed by all the hoops and drop out. This was my surgeon's opinion too, by the way.

Hang in there. You are so close to winning the staring contest a d getting what you want. Sometimes in life, we have to play games we don't want to...

Weight is also a pretty sensitive topic so a lot of people don't want to ask. Like they don't want to offend you if you aren't actually losing weight. My boyfriend and I were talking to our landlord last night who knows I am pre-op for WLS. He kept bring up that my boyfriend lost weight and I was kinda hinting at my weight loss and I just got the feeling that he felt so uncomfortable mentioning anything to me about my weight.

I'm pre-op but down 50lbs and am waiting for people to notice. Still hasn't happened. My boyfriend keeps saying there is a huge noticeable difference but it's his job to say nice crap like that lol. I even asked my mom if she saw a difference and she said "not really, but keep up the good work." Gee thanks mom!

I can understand, but remember something---YOU know your success. YOU know how far you have come. YOU know how amazing your victories are! YOUR KIDS will remember you on the rides! You are free from cravings--time to get free from what people think and say.

Good luck in your journey and enjoy little victories!!

There is nothing wrong with you wanting some praise for the hard work you have put in. I don't consider that hypocrisy, wanting positive reinforcement as opposed to not wanting to be called out on your weight when you are obviously suffering and aware of the situation. Totally different. However, it is wonderful that you have found happiness and peace combined with non-scale victories to motivate and reward yourself also. I personally fear amusement park rides myself, and hopefully that will change in the near future! Good job and good luck!

As I lose the weight, now down 70lbs, I expect more and more people to notice and make a positive comment about it. (The exact opposite thought when I was gaining my weight.)
I was with family and friends last week and their reaction was minimal. I was a little bothered by the lack of reaction, and then realized how hypocritical it is of me to want reactions now, but a few short months ago I did not want any attention given to my physical condition.
    A- I am still 280, so it's not like I am skinny.
B- I am wearing smaller size clothes, so my stomach (flat tire) is still visible.
C- it's ok for now as I am only ½ way, and even if no one notices, I do and that is enough.
During that same week we went as a family to Knotts berry farm, I was able to fit on all the rides and roller coasters with my daughters which was a big deal to me personally. I am currently not a slave to my cravings and feel a since of freedom I haven't felt for a very long time.
Do I want people to still notice, yes. But it was a good lesson to learn, I don't need it.

I am almost 3 months post op. I feel hungry all the time. My calorie goal is 600-800 a day but I've been closer to 900-1000. Carbs are definitely my weakness. I have a really hard time getting enough protein- sometimes I get really nauseated by meat and Protein powders make me vomit.
When I drink Water if I feel hungry it makes me nauseous.
My starting weight was 313 and I am now at 270. But I have been at 270 for about 2 weeks.

I got my sleeve 12/21/2016 so I am new on the journey. I am 60 years old and am down 53 pounds. Long way to go but I don't want to spend the rest of my life not being able to do what I want. I've told a lot of people. Most are very supportive but if they aren't, that's not going to be my problem. I've taken care of everyone else for a long time and now it's my turn.

People tell me I need to get some new clothes. Chair arms that used to dig into my legs don't touch my legs anymore. I keep having to move my car seat up. My pants are all miles too long. My sweaters are turning into sweater dresses. One guy at work calls me the amazing shrinking Carolyn. I love every bit of it even though I've been hungry all day every day since 12/9!

What causes the stall at 3-4 weeks post op? I track everything I eat and drink and range between 600-725 calories a day. I get in 7-8 glasses of Water a day. How can you eat so little and stall?

I had my sleeve on 12/21. 5 days out I could drink 10-12 oz in an hour. liquids are no problem. I just feel ravenous all the time. I'm getting in 100 grams of Protein a day and getting 64 oz of Water. Will the feeling hungry subside when I get to the puréed food phase? I have almost another week of full liquids to go.
