    I'm 60 +

Hi Paula. Welcome. I am 60 and was sleeved on 12/21. I've lost 55 pounds so far. It's worth it!
  3. I went through a period of mourning the food and I'm sure that will be something that happens again. It was the worst when I was feeling weak and tired early weeks after surgery. But the energy level does return and I'd rather have loose clothes than food! It's a process for sure. Keep up with the protein, fluids and vitamins as you heal and cut yourself a break. It will get better. It takes longer to heal than I ever imagined it would--but it does happen! Good days ahead!!!

    Hunger pains. What the eff?!

I'm hungry all the time and have been for the entire time. I was sleeved on 12/21 and have lost 53 lbs.
  5. People tell me I need to get some new clothes. Chair arms that used to dig into my legs don't touch my legs anymore. I keep having to move my car seat up. My pants are all miles too long. My sweaters are turning into sweater dresses. One guy at work calls me the amazing shrinking Carolyn. I love every bit of it even though I've been hungry all day every day since 12/9!
  6. I got my sleeve 12/21/2016 so I am new on the journey. I am 60 years old and am down 53 pounds. Long way to go but I don't want to spend the rest of my life not being able to do what I want. I've told a lot of people. Most are very supportive but if they aren't, that's not going to be my problem. I've taken care of everyone else for a long time and now it's my turn.
  7. Do exactly what your dr and NUT tell you to do. Be patient with yourself--it's a big change and takes a while to figure it all out. Best of luck to you! I wish you great success, no pain, and lots of weight loss!!
  8. It's hard for me to see the difference since I had surgery so I compared pictures and what a difference! So glad I got sleeved!!

  11. I am 5-1/2 weeks VSG post op and my energy level has dropped very low. Until the last 2 days, I have averaged 600-650 calories per day, 90-110 g of Protein, 25-35 g of carb a day. I usually get in 7-8 glasses of Water a day. The last couple of days I've tried adding another 100 calories and a few more carbs to see if that helps. No difference yet. Is this just part of the process? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. What causes the stall at 3-4 weeks post op? I track everything I eat and drink and range between 600-725 calories a day. I get in 7-8 glasses of Water a day. How can you eat so little and stall? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. I had my sleeve on 12/21. 5 days out I could drink 10-12 oz in an hour. liquids are no problem. I just feel ravenous all the time. I'm getting in 100 grams of Protein a day and getting 64 oz of Water. Will the feeling hungry subside when I get to the puréed food phase? I have almost another week of full liquids to go.
