  1. @@amf1025 I know how you are feeling. This summer, I was incredibly sick. Bad headaches, throwing up, couldn't stay awake... The doctors really wanted a CT scan. Well, non of the machines at the table were made for my weight. Their limit was 450. I weighed 452. I was so depressed and SCARED. I went in a few months later for my surgery consultation. I weighed 470 then. Now down to 423! Do your research, make sure you find a doctor who makes you feel comfortable, and know that there are tons of people who support you!
  2. @@theantichick That's a good idea, the half-pony. I'll try that @@toofatnopants Do you have a problem with the full face one leaking? Just curious cuz I've read that problem is more common with that type of mask.
  3. @@theantichick Thanks so much for responding! Glad to know I'm not the only one who has struggled... That mask looks interesting! I'm gonna call today and talk to the lady who helped me. Another problem I have is that the strap keeps slipping up thanks to my hair. But I don't have enough hair to put it up. SIgh.
  4. Good morning, everyone! So, Tuesday I went and picked up my CPAP machine. Apparently, my sleep study determined that I have severe sleep apnea. The lady who helped me let me choose the kind of mask to get... She didn't offer any advice or anything. So I chose the nasal mask, it just sits right under your nose. (But it's not the one that inserts into your nose) Anywho... I hate it. I can't freaking stand it. The first night, I couldn't fall asleep. Took it off. Second night, I kept waking up. Finally took it off at 4:30am, just before we got up. Happened again last night, too. So, I guess I'm asking if anyone has advice? What mask do you use? Did it take a long time to get used to it? HELP.
  5. Wow! Reading all this makes me feel a lot better... My surgery is this coming Thursday (12/23). I'm so excited, but starting to get nervous, too.
  6. Aetna has these advocates as well. Just call the member services on the back of your card. I can't imagine any company wouldn't have them....
  7. Everyone in my life has been pretty supportive. Well... except one guy at work that I shouldn't have even told. Don't even like him LOL. I would just let your family know, "Look, you might not agree, but I need you to love and support me through it." Then they'll change their tune when they see how much you lose!!!
  8. I think it was @@southbound who was referencing it, but I looked it up and posted what I found just a minute or two ago. I guess I'm a confused mess! LOL. Thank you!
  9. I'm totally the opposite... I'm telling everyone! I'm so excited, and I want all my friends and family to keep me accountable and cheer me on! Plus, I want to kind of help reduce the stigma around it. I'm even blogging about it! www.becomingaloserblog.wordpress.com Not saying my way is the right way... just the route I chose!
  10. @@Jazzzyjay Didn't you mention following instagram accounts for 40% off? That's what I'm referring to
  11. Wow, that's a great discount! Thanks. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App @@Jazzzyjay what are the names of some of the accounts?
  12. Oh dear. I am so lucky to have a supportive husband. You do what is best for YOU. And if you don't get support from him, find it everywhere else you can. Like here!
  13. You know, I've struggled with whether or not to do this, too. But if I could have lost this weight the so-called "right way", I wouldn't be here. There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of this tool to help yourself.
  14. I know the feeling! I was SO anxious while I was waiting... Keep us updated!
  15. I feel that way when people give me dieting advice too. Like this guy at work lost a little bit of weight and all of a sudden he had a PhD! Didn't know you could get them that fast! Honestly, I would just say, "Hm. Well my doctor disagrees, so I'll just go with his opinion..."
  16. So happy to hear you're doing well! Wishing you the best?
  17. What Protein Shakes are you doing? Just curious.
  18. I will read that now! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Hello all! I was just reading posts in a Facebook group I am a part of, and one lady posted about losing her hair. It had tons of comments from people saying they all lost hair, too. Is this something to expect? My surgery is scheduled for December 23 and I already have very thin hair, so I'm kind of worried.
  20. December 23 for me! So incredibly excited! December 23 for me! So incredibly excited! December 23 for me! So incredibly excited!
  21. This is so wrong. You deserve so much better than that. We all do. I know marriage takes a lot of love and hard work, and it's not easy to just walk away... But you need to do what is ultimately best for YOU. Hang in there, focus on your health, and don't let him get you down.
  22. I am not post-op, so I'm no expert. But based on what I've seen and heard, my best guess would be that you're gonna be smaller, but your clothes now should still look okay. Might be looser, but shouldn't be too bad.
  23. I am having my surgery December 23! So I will probably not even be eating at Christmas! We'll just have to keep our eyes on the prizes and remember... Christmas will be here again in a year!
  24. I'm kind of weird, I really love chicken broth! LOL. Could you add some seasoning to it, maybe?? Just a little bit.
