  1. My nutrition packet from my doctor states that Syntrax nectar is considered a clear liquid, and that I should order some for post-op. Where is a good place to order the variety pack? I'm trying to find a good price. ALSO... Has anyone tried the Isopure clear drinks that come already bottled?

    How do you do it

@@Kira82 Hello fellow Texan! I live in the mid-cities! I, too, had to lose 50lbs before surgery. My surgery is Friday and I just hit that goal yesterday! I started in August, so it took roughly 4 months to do this. The last 15 have been while I'm on the liquid diet. The diet my surgeon put me on before this was as follows: Breakfast and lunch: Protein shakes. HIGH protein, LOW calories and sugar. Premier Protein is amazing. Dinner: One small meal. 4oz LEAN protein. 1-2c veggies. TINY amount of carbs. Drink: Water Lots of it. Can flavor with zero calorie flavoring. Hope this helps!
  3. This is what I've been wondering, too! But I know no matter what happens, I will get to enjoy LIFE more after surgery. @@reree6898 You are gorgeous! Inspiring pictures!

    1st Consult Appt Wed. 12/21

Hey! So when I went to my first appointment, as well as the last one I had just before surgery, I took my mother. She is the BEST at thinking of questions to ask. Here's some she remembered to ask: 1. Which surgery does he recommend? 2. How long will you be out of work? 3. How long has he done this/how many surgeries has he done? 4. What's his success rate? 5. Does he keep an eye on you post-op? 6. What does he require before surgery? Stuff like tha! Hope that helps!

    Waking Up

Good afternoon, everyone! So my surgery is scheduled for this Friday, December 23, at 7:15 am. Yes, I have to be up bright and early for my surgery! My darling husband was supposed to have the day off to be at the hospital with me. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances at work that I won't even get into, he now has to go in that morning. He's upset, and I'm a little nervous. My mom will be there, so I won't be alone. But here's my question: How long did it take most of you from being wheeled back to waking up? Wondering if he might get there before I'm even awake.

2 days UNTIL I MAKE THIS BIG MOVE!

GIRL. You have seriously GOT this. It is hard as hell, but totally worth it. My surgery is this Friday. I know all the pre-op changes are scary and hard. But they are there to make you healthier and make your surgery safer. I am on the pre-op liquid diet now. It's hard. CHUG Water. It will really help.

    Waking Up

@@suzzzzz So about 5 hours til you got a room. Will probably be a bit less for me since I don't have a hernia. I know I won't "need" anyone there, but my husband insists on staying with me. He's a nervous nelly, and his presence makes me feel better anyway.

    Getting Closer! So many Qs!

I posted this in another thread, but I'll say it again here! I told EVERYONE. I'm confident with my choice, they can hate all they want-- this is what's best for me! Actually, I've even started a blog, too: www.becomingaloserblog.wordpress.com Like @@laceemouse said, I want to help remove a lot of the stigma around this subject. All that being said, this is your choice. Do what YOU are comfortable with.

    CPAP Mask

Good morning, everyone! So, Tuesday I went and picked up my CPAP machine. Apparently, my sleep study determined that I have severe sleep apnea. The lady who helped me let me choose the kind of mask to get... She didn't offer any advice or anything. So I chose the nasal mask, it just sits right under your nose. (But it's not the one that inserts into your nose) Anywho... I hate it. I can't freaking stand it. The first night, I couldn't fall asleep. Took it off. Second night, I kept waking up. Finally took it off at 4:30am, just before we got up. Happened again last night, too. So, I guess I'm asking if anyone has advice? What mask do you use? Did it take a long time to get used to it? HELP.
