    Dealing with little ones

Very smart child. You might have a future surgeon on your hands[emoji2]

    Dry skin...lotions?

I have the same problem! My face on my chin and Adobe my nose is extremely dry. I've tried IT cosmetics moisturizer but it doesn't seem to be helping.
  3. I'm on puree and I weigh everything I eat. Question is do you weigh the food before or after you puree it? I added some of the juice from the meat in the crockpot so it weighed more after it was pureed but I don't believe the juice from the meat is technically counted if your allowed to have unlimited amounts of broth. Does anyone know the answer to this question?
  4. I am taking Prilosec as per my surgeon. I am hungry - I think. I truly cannot tell right now. That's why I'm sticking to a schedule and measuring meals to the book. I'm having my first follow-op appointment next week, so I'll ask my doctor about it. Not sure how cut nerves would effect the hormone production of undisturbed/remaining stomach cells. I re-read what you wrote and it doesn't seem like you are complaining about being hungry all the time like a person with acid issues but you are complaining about always feeling the same and not feeling hungry or full? Am I understanding you correctly? If so that is pretty normal, that is why cut nerves matter. You don't have a lot of sensation in that area, and your body is also freaking out trying to repair itself because you just had major surgery. Cut nerves means you don't really have much feeling there. So you can't tell if you are full or not. Full is not something you want to shoot for especially early on because it hurts. A lot of people know they are full or close to it by hiccups, or their nose running, not a feeling in their stomach, at least early on. So it is better to just eat your measured/weighed portions and track your protein goal. If you are feeling churning in your stomach all the time, that means you have too much acid production and you might need to increase your PPI. Thank you so much for this response. I am two and ahalf weeks post op and I have been wondering if the sleeve was even working because I haven't really felt much of anything. I measure my portions, watch calories and try to get all of my protein but am having an issue with the water. I feel like I'm eating a lot but when I track it, it really isn't much. Maybe 600 calories. I appreciate reading others experiences and advice and this one really helped. Thank you again.

    2months out

I love that explanation so much! It's something physical that you can actually picture in your head!

No problems eating... is that ok?

Thank you for posting this! I posted something similar a few days ago and didn't get much of a response. These responses make me feel better about not feeling the restrictions. I'm still in the liquid phase but puree is coming next week! Sleeved 12/20/16.

HIPAA violation: What would you do?

I agree with that, however, no one knows how many times this has happened. Like someone else said, this could be happening without management's knowledge which could leave the doctor open to some real issues.

HIPAA violation: What would you do?

It really depends on how comfortable you are with the mistake. Do you feel comfortable knowing that this mistake could happen again? I completely understand human error however, you don't know if this has happened before either. You may feel that your file didn't have much information but the next persons might be more involved. The fact that the program needed to open the CD is a free download makes it more of a risk factor of the wrong information getting out there. I would possibly contact someone in the HIPPA office and just inquire about the place in question. If there are other cases, then file, if there isn't see if a note rather than a case be made. Not sure how it works but I wouldn't want my information out for anyone to view these days. Who knows what could happen.
  9. I have been reading all the stories about people having all this restriction right after the VSG surgery and I'm worried that I don't identify with that. I had surgery on 12/20/16 and have been able to drink more than 2ozs. of liquid at a time. I have never had to sip because everything I have not felt restriction or pain. I feel guilty because I have felt amazing since my surgery. The only thing I have felt restriction with is cream of wheat. I can eat about 1/2 packet made with 1 cup of unsweetened unflavored almond milk. I think I am between 400-550 calories a day and at least 40 grams of Protein. I'm 8 days post op and at my check up today I lost 2 lbs. I know it's not a lot but it is a loss. Anyway, has anyone felt this way? Should I be worried? In full disclosure, there was an issue with the portion of my stomach they removed but overall it will be fine going forward. What should I be feeling at this point? Will it be different when I go on solid foods in the future? Thanks in advance for any answers or help anyone has to offer.
  10. I hope things with your little man work out well for all involved. I'm glad you are doing so well on your post op. Please remember though, you need to take care of you because no one can do it for you. Thanks for sharing your story.
  11. I like watching My 600# life and the transformation show. I agree with what someone said earlier about the enablers and the whiney patients. I like Dr. Now because he doesn't play into the lazy game and tells you how it is. I prefer someone to be straight with me and not sugar coat things. I watch the show as often as I can.

    Applesauce

I was told to take my medicine, crushed in applesauce starting at day 2. It seems to go down ok for me. I use unsweetened applesauce and it's about a tablespoon with my meds.
