    Let's be honest about exercise

I actually do. I walk on my treadmill for 30 - 45 minutes a day, then workout on a bowflex for 20. 5-6 days a week. What really helps is that I get on my treadmill, plop my laptop on the tray and log in to the lapbandtalk chat, time flys by. So far, its been almost 5 months on the same routine, i've become an exercise addict.

Yipee! The best NSV ever for me!

I know Susan, getting off or reducing Meds are the best NSV ever. I was lucky enough to get off my diabetes Meds right after banding (type 2) now i need to loose a little more and I might be able to get off my High Blood Pressure pills. I just got tested yesterday and my A1C is 4.6 which the nurse said is considered Normal. Normal...Me....Cant wait to have my weight be considered Normal. Great Job.:blushing:

  15. Hi Lottie, just checking in to see how you are doing. Hope to see you on chat again one of these days.

  16. I count my calories every day, my target caloric goal is 921 and I track everything I eat on thedailyplate.com. I don't drink caffiene and have only sugarfree stuff. I do eat my protein first. The only think I do different is have a mid morning snack. Oh yeah, I also exercise 6 days a week.
  17. Nice seeing you on the chat this this morning, sorry couldn't stay to talk, had to go to work. I usually try to pop in at 6 am when i get to work and i start work at 630. I'm usually on when i get home at around 5pm til 8pm. Hope to talk to you some day.

    Hair Loss

I was banded in January also. Just this past month I started noticing more hair falling out than usual. I've been searching the posts for information and wondering the same thing.

What is your calorie intake daily??

I was eating about 1100 calories a day, then I hit a plateau. Just recently changed my calories to 900 and upped my exercise, now i losing again.
  20. Nice to hear from you. Wish I was on Oahu, would love to meet up with you guys. I was banded at Pali Momi by Dr Lapschies, had to fly there from the Big Island. Havent personally met anyone on my island that has had a band, but i met someone on the chat from Kona that is going to SF to get banded by Dr. Criangle.

  21. Hi Maryiam, nice talking to you tonight.

    Going CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

Guess what , you're normal. I also went though the "wanting to chew something" stage during my 10 days post op liquid diet. I even tried chewing sugarfree jello and popscicles. Hang in there, you'll be eating soon.
  23. 1. Having my butt hurt because I lost my cushion :-) LOL 2. Having to have my ring resized one whole size. 3. Being able to stay on my treadmill for 45 minutes without getting winded.

In a slump and in the dumps...

No, I don't think we have been duped. My Doctor made sure that I knew the pros and cons about the band. It ultimately comes down to me whether I eat right and exercise, the band is only a tool. It needs a lot of work on our part. The band doesn't make the choice to eat ice cream or chips, I do. The band is not the problem, its my mind that I need to control.

In a slump and in the dumps...

You are not alone. I have been on a plateau for the last 6 weeks, all I only lost one pound. I'm exercising 5 - 6 days a week, doing strength exercises on alternate days and tracking everything I eat on thedailyplate.com. I'm currently eating 900 to 1100 calories daily and from all accounts should be losing weight. I guess my body has a mind of its own and will do what it wants. I'm considering dropping my calories a little more and exercising longer to see if I can jump start my weight loss again.
