It's crazy to see pictures before because that is not who I saw. I feel I am more of a reflection of who I am now, than before my surgery. My "before" pic was taken in March of 2016. Three months later, I began my journey.

I'm 7 weeks post op with gastric bypass. I honestly feel fine. Hard to imagine but it's true. You get creative with what you eat and I definitely think traveling will be just fine. Congrats and have fun on your trip

I NEVER thought I'd say that I love getting on a scale. Every time I would go to the doctor's office, I was the person that would refused to be weighed. I didn't want the reminder that I was overweight when I know by looking in the mirror every day.
Ever since I started the journey in June 2016, I've had to step on a scale. After surgery, I have weighed myself once a week. I now LOOK FORWARD to it.

The 6 months flies by... especially if you are trying to lose the weight they asked you to. I lost 25 pounds in the 6 months and my recovery was beyond smooth

Thank you everyone! I'm about scared to try it and definitely try to focus on Protein. I do love salads though so I was hoping to try them soon. My doctor seems pretty vague about eating guidelines.. kind of a test things out and see how it goes. So weird to go through all of this, have a two week check up, 6 week check up, then 3 months! I am thinking "wait, what?!"

I'm 7 weeks out from surgery. I've heard lettuce is hard to digest. I was just wondering when you suggest trying to eat a salad.< /p>

I honestly do not see a lot of difference yet when looking in the mirror but I do see it in my clothes. Yesterday I took a picture at my soon to be sister in laws bridal shower with my Gma. I wanted to put it next to a pic I had taken with my other Gma. I finally can see what others are seeing... at least in my face.

@@chula82 I completely agree with you. I kept thinking something was wrong because NOTHING was wrong lol. I have had no real issues since surgery. I'm losing weight and testing different things out.
So far so good. The full liquid diet was rough but that's just because it's all liquids.
Good luck!! Congrats on being able to eat!

There are ways around it. My pcp wouldn't give me a referral. The Bariatric office I got to made it happen though!

I hate needles! I don't even have my ears pierced for that very reason. The IV was the worst going in but I survived. The shots to prevent blood clots scared me but they honestly did not hurt. They tested my blood sugar while in he hospital and I wasn't a fan but I survived. I'm still here, still have a phobia of needles but you will make it!

Not having to be embarrassed in a dress at my brother's wedding. Hopefully by April a decent amount will have come off.

I'm two weeks and two days out from surgery and my doctor had me doing puréed foods rather quickly. I haven't had problems. I go to my follow up today. Hopefully everything is going how it should be.

I had to do a 6 month weight observation, complete test then they submitted for insurances approval. Once I had the approval, surgery date came up quick

I think comparing yourself to others is he hardest. I am two weeks post op and have lost 10 pounds. I feel like more should have come off by now but I have to remember... I am me, they are them! We are all different.

I'm not doing a thing since NYE is so centered around good food and alcohol.
