  1. Sorry that this is graphic but I want to know if anyone else is having horrible diarrhea. I had surgery yesterday. Today, I have horrible bloody diarrhea. I was told I would have blood in my stool because of the surgery but this is insane. Anyone else have this problem? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Pre surgery, i used to have a rash on my back. Since surgery 12/14/16, I haven't had any bread and the rash is gone. I'm assuming I had a gluten allergy. Does anyone know if that's a sign of being gluten intolerant?
  3. I'm 7 weeks out from surgery. I've heard lettuce is hard to digest. I was just wondering when you suggest trying to eat a salad. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. It's crazy to see pictures before because that is not who I saw. I feel I am more of a reflection of who I am now, than before my surgery. My "before" pic was taken in March of 2016. Three months later, I began my journey. 6/2016 SW 296 12/14/16 Weight at Surgery 271 CW 211

    Cruise three month post op?

I'm 7 weeks post op with gastric bypass. I honestly feel fine. Hard to imagine but it's true. You get creative with what you eat and I definitely think traveling will be just fine. Congrats and have fun on your trip Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I NEVER thought I'd say that I love getting on a scale. Every time I would go to the doctor's office, I was the person that would refused to be weighed. I didn't want the reminder that I was overweight when I know by looking in the mirror every day. Ever since I started the journey in June 2016, I've had to step on a scale. After surgery, I have weighed myself once a week. I now LOOK FORWARD to it. HW 6/2016 - 296 Day of Surgery 12/14/16 - 271 CW - 238 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Ugh....6 months?!?!

The 6 months flies by... especially if you are trying to lose the weight they asked you to. I lost 25 pounds in the 6 months and my recovery was beyond smooth Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When can I eat a salad?

Thank you everyone! I'm about scared to try it and definitely try to focus on Protein. I do love salads though so I was hoping to try them soon. My doctor seems pretty vague about eating guidelines.. kind of a test things out and see how it goes. So weird to go through all of this, have a two week check up, 6 week check up, then 3 months! I am thinking "wait, what?!" Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. I honestly do not see a lot of difference yet when looking in the mirror but I do see it in my clothes. Yesterday I took a picture at my soon to be sister in laws bridal shower with my Gma. I wanted to put it next to a pic I had taken with my other Gma. I finally can see what others are seeing... at least in my face. 16. I had surgery on 12/14 and I have had no problems. I even feel like I'm eating well. Definitely less than what I was, and I'm in the puréed phase... but it concerns me. Anyone else like this? I feel like I'm supposed to be more restricted. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No problems eating... is that ok?

@@chula82 I completely agree with you. I kept thinking something was wrong because NOTHING was wrong lol. I have had no real issues since surgery. I'm losing weight and testing different things out. So far so good. The full liquid diet was rough but that's just because it's all liquids. Good luck!! Congrats on being able to eat! 21. I hate needles! I don't even have my ears pierced for that very reason. The IV was the worst going in but I survived. The shots to prevent blood clots scared me but they honestly did not hurt. They tested my blood sugar while in he hospital and I wasn't a fan but I survived. I'm still here, still have a phobia of needles but you will make it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No problems eating... is that ok?

I'm two weeks and two days out from surgery and my doctor had me doing puréed foods rather quickly. I haven't had problems. I go to my follow up today. Hopefully everything is going how it should be. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    When does insurance approve?

I had to do a 6 month weight observation, complete test then they submitted for insurances approval. Once I had the approval, surgery date came up quick Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    This is HARD

I think comparing yourself to others is he hardest. I am two weeks post op and have lost 10 pounds. I feel like more should have come off by now but I have to remember... I am me, they are them! We are all different. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
