Weigh in... how much have u lost?

hi all, I was banded on March 3 and have lost 38 lbs. Nothing tastes as good as how I feel. Everyone keep up the good work.

100 lbs! You did it! Now tell me how.....

I love reading these success stories. You are all such a big motivator for us new bandsters. I had my third fill this past Tuesday and it's really helping. I really have to eat slow and chew well. It seems like right after a fill, the band is tight but in a few weeks it gets loser. Has anyone experienced that? Good Luck all and keep up the good work. :cool2:
  3. HI, it will be three months for me on June 3. I too love what the band has done for me. For once, I am not always obsessing about food. One of the woman in work brought in homemade cupcakes today. I did not have one and didn't even crave them. Before banding I would have obsessed over them all day and would have eaten at least 3. I'm trying hard to stick to the Protein and veggies. The weight is coming off slowly now but I'm all right with that. I've been walking 45 minutes a day. I feel so much better mentally and physically. i think the band was the best thing I did for myself. I wish i had done it sooner.:drool::crying:

100 lbs! You did it! Now tell me how.....

this is a great thread! You people are so inspiring. I was banded on March 3 and have lost 38 lbs. I seem to be stuck and am scared, telling myself self defeating things like: I knew it wouldn't work for me and i knew I would go back to my old eating habits. It's been just the past two weeks that I've been struggling. I want to be like you, one who will lose 100 lbs. I have my third fill tomorrow and I hope it helps. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK - YOU ARE WHAT THE LAPBAND JOURNEY IS ALL ABOUT.

    Help, Im struggling here

I was banded on March 3 and have hit a couple of plateaus but it does come off eventually. You should log your calories. I log everything I eat so I can see really how much I'm eating. Hang in there - it will come off:smile2:
  6. OMG, I can't afford to lose any hair. My hair is so thin already, you can see my scalp. I hope i don't lose hair. I am two month post surgery and am getting my protein in. I think I'll go buy biotin. help!

Yeah! Will have my 2nd fill next week!

I had my second fill this past Tuesday. I feel much more restriction than I did when i had my first fill. it's great because it's keeping me in control of my eating. good luck with your fill. I am happy for you.
  8. hi, I was banded on March 3 and have lost 34 lbs. I am now in a size 18. I still sometimes have to look in the plus sizes because the XL are a little tight. I can't wait until the XL fit me. It will come. yea for us!!!! keep up the good work everyone. Dolores:smile:

    March 2008 Bandster Dates

thanks specialk - this is an awesome list. It's nice to know and talk to people who are at the same point in this journey. this is great.
  10. This is the funniest thread I've read. It's not funny that your hungry but funny how you've expressed it - "sad to say I've adjusted to no chewing." I was banded on March 3. I also felt that way but what kept me going was I kept telling myself it was temporary and that I would eat again. I am now 8 weeks post op and eat normal food but not alot. I had my first fill on April 23. I don't feel much restriction but that's ok because I am eating good and still losing. I am not hungry. for instance today i ate: 1 hb egg (100 cal), 1 farina packet (100 cal) 1 scoop of chick salad (250 cal), 1 small salad (100) 4 oz flounder (200 cal), cauliflower (100cal) 1 EAS Protein shake (i love these) (230 cal) Hang in there! It really does get better.

    Thinking of Cancelling Surgery!!!

I was banded on March 3. I also was very skeptical about it. I asked my primary care doctor and told him i was concerned about the long term effects and that no one knew what they were. He said to me, maybe not Dolores but I do not the long term effects of you keeping this weight on - your going to have a heart attack. Right then and there I knew I had to do something. I knew he was right. I could not carry that weight around anymore, I was huffing and puffing walking and going up stairs. Now I feel great. i walk every day and eat right. Imagine me, eating right! I am so happy. I also love my band. You have to decide for yourself. If you can do it on your own, that's good. If not, the band is a tool to help you.

So, are people beginning to "notice"?

I was banded on March 3 and have lost 35 lbs. Many people at work are noticing it and commenting on it. I've told everyone I had the surgery. I feel great! I also have been on many diets and have gone up and down in weight. The difference with this is I've kept the weigth off for 8 weeks, before I couldn't last that long on a diet and the weight always came back on quick - within a month. I feel confident that my weight will continue to decrease from here on in. YEAH!!!!
  15. I had the same problem. It was so bad, my left ear hurt. I am now 8 weeks post op and it is gone. thank God. I was in so much pain. I lived on gas x and walked a ton. Hope your goes away soon.

    So Mad!

Kat, you are such an inspiration to me. You've done so well with the band. I am 8 weeks post op and am struggling. Have you ever had bad days and how did you get past them? thanks for sharing. Dolores

    It's finally done!

I was banded around the same time you were. I lost 32 lbs. I had my first fill last Wednesday. I don't feel much difference. Since I've had my lapband I've been really relying on committment and willpower. I can eat just about anything but haven't been, that is until today. I had a bad day and am struggling. I always told myself if I had the band done, i would not cheat. I am so upset because I want to do this right. anyway, i wish you great success. :rolleyes2:

    Breakfast Boredom....

Lessnless, skinny Jill, Sue Magoo and Harley Girl, you are all doing great! I'm looking at your tickers and am so in awe with how good you are doing. Have any of you had any bad days where you had sweets, ie. ice cream, etc. I had a bad day today and am hoping I can get past it. Dolores
  19. I am 8 weeks post op. I had my first fill last Wednesday. I don't have the right restriction yet so i am trying to eat the right amount of food on my own. I don't want to eat too much and cause my band to slip. Can anyone tell me how much food our new pouch can hold? i.e. 1 cup of food. I've been eating around 4-5 ozs of Protein and 3/4 cup veggies. Is that too much? I go for another adjustment in two weeks. oh thanks to everyone who help me finally figure out how to do my ticker. :smile2: I wish everyone great success, we all deserve it. Dee
  20. thank you Jack that helps alot.
  21. David, there are many of us who have recently had the lap band. We, like you, decided to be banded. Your comments are disturbing for us. I'd like statistics - how many lap band have burrowed into colons. How many ports have come through the skin. I mean you probably have all us new bandsters ready to go back to our doctors and insist that they be removed. I'm not saying that you should not have posted this but when posting something like that maybe you should do research and state the statistics on how often things that you've experienced happen. and hopefully the stats are not high.:crying:

    My first fill

Hi, I was banded on March 3. I had my first fill yesterday. My MD put 3ccs in my band. I also am on liquids yesterday and today. tomorrow i start soft foods for 2 days then regular. I've lost 31 lbs so far. I wish you much success, keep up the good work.
  23. Hi, I was banded on March 3rd and am feeling the same way. I've lost 31 lbs from pre-op to date. I just keep thinking oh my god i have so much more to lose and it isn't happening fast enough for me. Just goes to show how much weight i gained - too much. i was 241.8 and am now 210. but i should be approx 145. I am trying very hard to stay positive and eat right. i had my first fill yesterday. I'm eating full liquids for a few days then start soft foods. I wish you all great success. We can do this.:tt2: can someone tell me how to make a weight loss ticker. thanks
  24. i know what you mean. I was banded on March 3rd. I lost 20 lbs preop and 31 lbs total now. I still feel like Oh my god, I have so much more to lose. I weighed 241.8 when I started and am 210 now. I still feel so fat and yet fell like I've put so much effort into this. I guess I have to accept that it is going to take time to take the weight off. :tt2: I want to start exercising and targeting body parts - like my stomach, butt and thighs. Hopefully that will help with the weight loss.
