    Low BMI sleevers... results?

Good luck with your surgery. I was a low BMI patient to. Sleeved three month ago and haven't regretted it so far. Have had a couple of stalls but all in all I have lost near 20kg and I would never have been able to do so without surgery. I can play sports again and am happily active with my family. Thank God every day for having made this decision before my over weight led to other health issues. I know many sleevers lose more in three month but I am happy with where I am at. Some days I get scared that I am going through a leak or complications and start researching symptoms [emoji23]. Some things are tough to eat . But it's a learning curve. What works for others doesn't necessarily work for you. Red meat is still difficult for me. Had a heavy desert once and ended up running from table and puking. But otherwise my biggest issue is to drink enough water every day. Wish you all the best. Hope this helps

Surgery end of November. Thanks [emoji1374]
  3. Has anyone felt their face flushing and going reddish? Also feeling slightly dizzy or off balance? Any idea what this can be? Have been getting scared of having a leak but those aren't symptoms? Scared because been feeling weak a lot recently. Any advice? Anyone?

    Low BMIers

Good luck with your surgery. I think we all go through the nervous stage (combination of fear, and happiness and is going under anesthesia worth it?). But... I would do it again in a flash . Two and a half month out. Losing slowly. Stalling sometimes. But I would have never lost the weight so easily without this surgery. Down almost 16 kilos. And hoping for more. Grateful every day Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Has anyone tried taking BCAAs or any other fat burner pills before exercise? Used to take BCAAs before exercising and it used to get me through tough workouts. Anyone know if they are bad for us after sleeve? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Sleeved 23/11 . Down 34 pounds . Stall every couple of weeks. Trying to get enough Water. Have no problem eating but not sure getting enough Protein. Hope all November sleevers are doing well and happy ... anyone else having trouble counting protein? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Two month out and I am worried if I am eating right or if I am consuming too much. Here is a typical day: Breakfast: a Protein shake ( sunwarrior vegan protein, almond milk, date , banana) lunch : chicken breath grilled and some veggies dinner : boiled egg or tuna or slice of cheese. I also eat fruit either in the evening or early morning. Worried that I am able to consume too big quantities. No cravings or other issues . But not drinking enough Water usually get about a liter and a half . Any advice welcome. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Looking for alternatives to soda

That's probably the thing I miss the most : Diet Coke or fizzy Water like Perrier. 2 month out and still miss it. I squeeze a lemon into my water makes it go down smoother . Try also infusing water with fresh mint, cucumbers or grapefruit slices. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Big Day Today 23/11

Part 3 happy again Finally feeling happy again. After an extremely tough day yesterday. I am able to get up alone, walk , go to bathroom and most importantly my stomach no longer looks and feels like a basket ball and the shoulder pain is much less. I thought I was going to die but now happy again and looking forward to starting my one week clear liquid diet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Big Day Today 23/11

Part 2: Obviously wasn't allowed to leave for home and my surgeon came and did a second surgery through same incisions to check there is no leakage. Turns out the drain had irritated some lining and I had some internal bleeding. Needed blood transfusion. You can imagine throughout all this was feeling miserable scared and regretted having surgery all together. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Big Day Today 23/11

Here is my post surgery update: Came out of surgery at 8 30 pm feeling fantastic. Around 11 pm was able to walk every half an hour around hospital floor was having sips of Water and generally feeling ecstatic to have it over and done with. I must have slept for two hours woke up with belly super extended and extreme pain throughout my upper body. Specially shoulders and belly and sides. This continued getting worse. Nurses and doctors told me I need to move in order to release gases, gave me mutliple pain relievers but nothing helped. Every time I tried to stand up the pain got so extreme I ended up fully fainting four times. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Big Day Today 23/11

Thank you all so much for your wishes. I made it through the surgery. Finished about three hours ago. I think I was so scared that I am surprised at how smoothly everything went thank God. How I felt immediately after: Had a feeling of pressure as if I need to burp badly. It was painful but manageable. My stomach feels sore but nothing compared to pain of Caesarian . I walked twice and had some sips of Water. Still feel a little drowsy but grateful to have done it . Thank you all for your well wishes. Will keep you posted Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
