It did help me. I struggle with measurements, and trying to eat Protein, veggie, starch at a meal. So 3 oz of chicken, pretty much eliminates everything else.
I feel the pressure in my chest so soon after I start eating, I don't believe I could be full. It only takes a bite or 2 more the start the unpleasantness. I'm learning though, and this seldom happens now.
Have you ever heard that the food is still in the top of the sleeve 2 hours after eating?

I'm not perfect as some of you appear to be, but I do try to stick exactly to my doctor's plan. And I don't go outside of the plan phase in general. But it is very hard when you see that other doctors allow certain foods earlier than other do or that others never allow.
I wish you good going veryblessed, it's hard. But I expected that.

I needed to read this today. I am almost 3 months out, 10/10/16 and not losing well at all. I have only lost a total of 32 lbs, which includes the preop diet period.
I have picked up the activity level and stick fairly strictly to the diet plan. Your message is encouraging.
Keep up the good work, you look fabulous. And thank
    s for blessing me today

64 lbs down! I've had a very positive journey although I feel as though I lose slowly. I'm 54 lbs away from my goal weight and 36 lbs away from the surgeon's goal weight for me. So far so good!

I had my surgery on June 15, 2015, before surgery I weighed in at 265, I would tell myself it was all good until I had a grand child and I was raising him because my daughter was 17. I started not to be able to keep up with him and it was hard to get off the floor. That is when I decided it was time to do something. So I went to seminar and first doctors appt was in January of 2015, the six month waiting period was very fast and smooth, got a call after my classes were finished saying insurance approved my surgery and was scheduled for surgery less than two weeks later. Surgery went well, after surgery I found out I was allergic to morphine and got sick from the time I woke up from surgery until the next day. Then after that recovery went well. I lost more weight at my one year check up than my doctor thought I would loss, he said that I was in the overweight category and didn't need to see me except for blood work once a year and just to keep the weight off.
Well the last few months has been crazy with my daughter signing over rights to us for our grandchild and all of the sudden the dad, after two and half years, came to court and wanted to see grandson. I say all this because I have been stressed and it is the holidays and I have not been watching what I have been eating and started only working out twice a week. My husband had the sleeve surgery in October, so I was taking care of him, talking to attorney about grandson and running my daycare and taking care of grandson.
While my weight pretty much stayed between 160-165, this month while waiting for grandson's court date, I was not eating a lot. I have actually lost another 5 pounds and am still losing. I have hit my long term goal which is to be in the 150's. I am so excited and I now have a winter wardrobe to fit and look nice in!!! I am happier, healthier, and finally am not letting people walk all over me because I have some of my confidence back also!!!
2016 was not such a good year for our family but we are going to rock 2017. Hopefully this next year my hubby will reach his goal, we will be the best grandparents we can be to our little man and God will bless us with many adventures and memories with family!!!!
I am also going horse back riding now that hubby is under the weight limit to go!!!! Here is a before and this month picture-I am still on my journey!!!

Well done, my soul mate. I too was sleeved on 10/10/2016. Have lose 32 lbs, I feel better knowing I an in the ballpark!
I am just beginning to get more Protein from food than the Protein shake. My GERD has been moderate but it does break through every few days making drinking difficlut. But I am thankful for the weight loss and for getting my face back . Continued success!

OK so I have been thinking of having the surgery for the last 5 years. As a 43 year old male I have consistently maintained a weight between 285 and 300 pounds for the last 7 years. Finally decided this year to do it. Blood pressure is a little high and I do not have (nor want) diabetes would be happy with 205 or less
    Surgery was scheduled for 12/13.
I worked the night before the procedure and it was not that bad. Had my last sip of Clear Liquids at 00:01 and had not eaten solid foods for a day. got off work at 0615 and was in surgery by 0730.
Pre-surgery was typical, IV fluids, versed, gas then that is all you remember. Anesthesia really affects me so I was pretty drowsy post op and through out the day and night being discharged from the hospital on Wednesday morning (surgery was just the a.m. before) however, I took
NO pain medicine, and did not need anything for nausea or vomiting. I was in a bit of abdominal pain but nothing i could not handle and was able to do 8 laps around the nurses station between noon and midnight.
Sipped on Water when ever I was awake and on a Protein Drink (mixed with water) throughout the day but did not finish it all. I normally love cold liquids but could only tolerate tepid water. I have been able to stay on top of my water for the most part and i have had two Jello cups so far. I am really craving some PB2 in Milk but have 4 more days for that.
I sit here day three post op, at 0730 am, having just made some "Better than bullion" chicken broth Thinking of drinking this and going back to bed.,
I did finally use 1,000 mg of adult liquid Tylenol (thank you Meijer) on Tuesday evening, to easy the discomfort of lying flat in bed. THis did help me sleep last night.

Well good luck Kitsune. I was sleeved on 10/10/2016. I had a relatively easy time and I'm 69 years old. The gas was bearable and walking did help. I had a small pain pump that went home with me. When I took it out a few days later, I realised what a great job it did. I then took the pain pills sporadiclly for about 2 days.
I agree that you need to drink the fluids, but from what I'm hearing most of us have problems getting in 64 oz. Do your best to keep sipping. I found that S/F popciles and Jello were wonderful. And that hot broth the baum.
Pre op I could only have Protein Water, not the shake and 1/2 strength gator ade. I made it through intact and the doctor said my liver shrunk perfectly.
My post op problem was weakness. I thought I would never walk again. I hadn't joined a support group, but I came to this site and lo and behold theyy were talking about drinking the Protein. I reduced the Fluid I was trying to take with my protein and started getting in the 50 grams every day in one shake. What a blessing over the days, I got stronger and stronger and now about 4 weeks later I am feeling wonderful. I am so peppy, I have even been decorating for Christmas.
I feel good and so will you! God bless!

No he didn't deserve you. Have you thought about getting counseling to help put him behind you? although he was apparently bad for you, I sense you are holding on to the hurt. You have to let it go and let God!.
I'm not a professional I am just sensing in all your responses the hurt is deep. Please take care ou YOU!
