    Feeling kinda down

I was sleeved 11/7. Lost 20 lbs the first two weeks, but I'm now 5 weeks out and haven't lost anything else. I do know that everyone loses at a different pace, so I'm not worried. Don't let it worry you. Stalls and plateaus are normal! Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App

    Post op liquid diet

Not necessarily, but I wouldn't go overboard. Your stomach is healing. I stuck with Protein drinks, yogurt, and Water. I could have used crystal light to flavor the water, but I figured that it would be one less thing for my belly to worry about while healing. Im on soft foods now, and I love cooking with spices. Spice and flavoring can also have nutritional value, but watch the salt and the processed flavorings. Just my opinion. I'm new to this, so I could be wrong Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App

    ugh to the liquid diet!

Premiere Protein works well for me. I buy it at wally world. So many choices out there, it's daunting to find one you like. Are you taking soy or whey? Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App
  8. It's very frustrating. One friend told me that I could have done this on my own. All I said was that I did this for health reasons, and I have no regrets. It's your body, and your shoes that you are wearing. You do you! Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App

    BCBS FED

Sorry to hear of the frustrations! Mine was covered because I fit into the morbidly obese category. I'm 5'6 and was 275. I'm down to 239 at 4 weeks out . I had high blood pressure and on meds, have sleep apnea and on CPAP, I had a hernia, and was borderline diabetic. I can't wait to be healthier and hopefully not need the meds or CPAP after awhile. Bathroom help

Avocado is an excellent natural laxative. At least for me . Milk of Magnesia is what I use, but the taste and texture is horrifying. Might switch to metamucil. Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App
  12. I was told that once you approved for surgery, you are approved for a year (keep in mind all plans are different, but I would think that part would be across the board) all surgeons want you to lose weight before the procedure so that it helps to move the liver out of the way, and also to show that you are ready for it. Is there an insurance specialist at the surgeons office? I would inquire with them. Good luck in your future endeavors Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App

    Before W.L.S. and after W.L.S.

I would definitely try to stock up on a few essentials. Soup broth, yogurt, and premiere Protein drinks. I told myself that since I only live 2 blocks from the grocery store, I could walk there for my exercise to get what I needed, so I didn't stock up at all. After surgery, I was really tired and spent. I felt uncomfortable. I forgot to figure in the grocery bags I'd have to haul home. Thankfully my mom visited for 3 days to help out, and she picked up a few things for me. Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App

    I don't want to weigh!

Another thing you can do is use a measuring tape to measure your arms, chest, abdomen, and hips. I have huge calves, and I wish I would have measured those too. Once a month, measure yourself, and you can not e weight loss that way. The scale is not my friend. The doc said that we can lose 1 to 3 pounds a week. But we have to remember that weight fluctuates up and down, and we shouldn't rely on a scale to tell us. There will be many stalls through this journey, and we just need to remind ourselves that stalls or plateaus are normal. Keep up the great work! Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App

    BCBS FED

I have bcbs fed, and the insurance specialist at the surgeons office told me that it will be covered 100%, and I will just have to pay copays, which amount to 500. But it also depends on how much overweight you were going in, and if you had pre existing conditions. A lot of variables come into play. I would call the insurance specialist at your docs office and inquire about it. Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using the BariatricPal App
