  1. I have already met my six month minimum requirement for insurance. I also have all my other required appointments scheduled. My question is, I started my 6 month journey at 259 pounds (BMI of 49.1), the lowest I ever got in that 6 months was 251. I have always fluctuated between 255-257. I have never gone over the 259 that I started this journey at. I'm worried that insurance won't approve me if I can't lose more weight. I have been on a very strict diet and going to the gym every other day meeting with a trainer. My body just won't lose the weight. Will insurance still approve me even if I haven't lost a substantial amount of weight? PLEASE HELP!!!
  2. I'm having my surgery in March. All I have left is the therapist visit, dietician visit, EKG, and UGI!!!! I'm so excited and I can't wait!!!! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Help UGI coming up!

I am scheduled to have my UGI (barium swallow study) February 20th. I am so nervous about the mixture that you have to drink. I have a weak stomach and am nervous about the chalky drink. Please help me with how to get this stuff down!!!!
  4. Awesome! Dr. Lucktong is a great surgeon and came highly recommended! You and me are on the same track for getting our surgeries! Lauren is trying to get all of my things completed by March too! The only two things I have left are my Psych Eval and the one hour dietician appt which I'm having done in mid February so she is hoping to send to my insurance company then and hopefully will get approval and surgery some time in March! Initial consult

I have my initial consult on January 24th. I had to go to an informational session prior to getting my consult scheduled. Luckily with my insurance I only have to do a 6 month supervised diet and exercise program. I have been seeing a weight loss physician for 8 months and thankfully my insurance will back date the past 6 months for me. All i have left to do is see a dietician and a psychotherapist and I am done with my qualifications! I am so excited to starts this journey. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I am currently 29 years old, been married for 10 years, and have 1 beautiful daughter. I weight 260 pounds and I'm ready to be able to run and enjoy my daughter without being out of breath.
  15. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. Im 29 and weigh 255 pounds. I have finally scheduled my informational session for bariatric surgery in January. From there I will get a consult with a surgeon. I am having to follow steps in order to get my insurance to pay for the surgery. I'm stuck between Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass. What is everyone's opinion on the two? What are some things that can help me through this process?
