I have been using them for 5 weeks but taking a break now. I started breaking out in a rash on my skin, allergic reaction maybe. My Dr. does not like them but I have a hard time will pills and chewables. I plan on using them again. I would love to hear blood work results from others.

Not at all! I too struggled in the beginning (5 weeks today) and what I learned from this site is it too shall pass. Keep your eye on the prize. It gets better every single day....for real!

Don't stock up on ANYTHING because your taste buds may change. I had surgery on Wednesday, was home on Thursday and was driving on Friday. I could get to the market to buy anything I needed.

Gatorade, a few Protein shakes, some SF popsicles and a can of broth would have been more than sufficient when I got home. I threw away a LOT of Protein powders, shakes, drink mixes, etc. because I couldn't tolerate them post op. A LOT.
Get rid of the mindset of "cheating". You're grown. You are making a major decision to have WLS. If you are eating something off plan, you are not "cheating", you are simply making a horrible CHOICE.

Will is be hard? Yup. Will it suck? Yup. Will you be constantly tempted and tortured and at times, a bit miserable. Yup. Will you wonder WTF you did to yourself and if things will ever be normal again? Yup.

Will it be worth it? ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY.

Oh. And don't come to these boards, asking an enabling question (like can I eat chicken wings and pizza on my liquids stage) and get huffy when people tell you no. Your hormones will be crazy. Don't take it out on those of us who care enough to answer you straight.

I've yet to actually get sleeved, but it's just around the corner! To be approved for surgery, I had to wait 6 months and complete a checklist of doctors to visit. During that time I had monthly nutritionist appointments where I would be weighed. There was no weight loss requirement for my insurance approval, but it was obviously encouraged to work some off prior to surgery.
My final nutritionist appointment was in September. I'd done well the first four months but gained ten of 15 I'd lost back by the final appointment. It is now 2 months since then, and I was able to drop the ten I gained back and then some.
Five years ago my dad died somewhat unexpectedly and I gained about 80-90lbs on top of weighing 260-70 at the time. My highest weight was in the 340s. Recently I weighed in at under 300lbs for the first time in years and today, I weighed 286! This is closest I've been to my pre-grief weight since I started this process.
I'm looking forward to my big day on the 22nd.

@@macon_me You could use sugar-free hot chocolate mix and add unflavored Protein powder to it. I mix GENEPRO into my coffee every morning
