  1. go into your account at the top of the screen and add a ticker. How low is low?
  2. I am a diabetic for 15 years. I went from metformin twice a day and an insulin booster shot (not insulin) once a week to nothing post surgery. That's how quickly my blood sugar went to normal levels. By my 3 month follow up my A1C was a 5.9. Let your docs know about the drops by calling their office. They will likely taper you off the drugs. There is nothing you can do to prevent the lows while on medication.
  3. My question is how do you know you are having low blood sugar? You said no history, but is that of hypoglycemia? Are you diabetic or on any diabetic medications?
  4. I like Crystal Light - most flavors. I drink a lot of Vitamin Water Zero Rise Flavor. I also drink G2 Grape or Raspberry Lemonade.

    Hey Short Ladies!

I found some great Gloria Vanderbilt crop jeans at Kohl's recently!

    Hey Short Ladies!

At Dress Barn, they are capris. I recently bought some Gloria Vanderbilt "crop" jeans which are also perfect length. I always try them on to be sure, because apparently "capris" is a very loose term. LOL

    What a great story!

    Hey Short Ladies!

I have not tried Maurice's and there is one nearby, My inner chubster is taking steps away from the harbor that is Lane Bryant and Torrid. Thanks for the info.
  10. I've been back on the boards a bit today.  Hubby is on his way to a full recovery from his stroke, but has to have a procedure to repair a hole in his heart.  Back to focusing on me for a bit.  Did well staying on plan, but didn't lose anything, didn't gain either...so we'll call it a win.

    Just wondering

After 3 days and no movement, I started on the Miralax. There was no real reason to be concerned for me, but when nature was ready to call, I didn't want it to be a struggle.

    Bipolar 2

I can't answer your question, but wanted to address your comment regarding the stigma of Bipolar disorder. I have been with my husband for 24 years, 10 years ago he was diagnosed as bipolar. I was terrified because of everything I had seen on TV and movies regarding it. We were together 14 years prior to diagnosis and the doctor tells us and all of a sudden I'm scared? I hate how they only portray SEVERE disturbing cases and not the everyday Joe. Truth is that on meds, his behavior is more even keeled and he enjoys his life more. When he is happier, everyone is happier. Thank you for telling your story. We don't keep his illness a secret because we want to be part of destroying the stigma. I hope everything goes well for you and you have a support here, whenever you need it.

    Hey Short Ladies!

Yep. Really. I'm 5'2" with a 24 inch inseam. LOL. Even regular jean shorts fit like a cargo style.

    Hey Short Ladies!

I will check this out, but if they're expensive like you mentioned I'll just keep looking. LOL

    Hey Short Ladies!

I know this will sound crazy, but I'm just so overjoyed with being able to find anything that fits I have to stay out of the stores. I won't shop online because it gives me anxiety. I have been in them more and more because of the Capri hunt and I'm dreading the impending bills...lol

    Hey Short Ladies!

Most capris fit me like regular pants, so they're pretty much my jam. I bought some skirts last year when I was pre-op, but losing on my own. I'll probably do a bit of that as well. Maybe even dresses if I can find some super cute A-line styles. I've gone from a 28 to 18/20 in 4 months so I'm not trying to buy too much. I just gave away my last pair of 28's that I have still been limping along in and I have a nice tailored pair of 26, but they have to go as well. I'm just tired of my clothes making me look sloppy, so I am trying to find more fitted stylish clothing instead of "I guess I'll buy this cause it fits." LOL

    Hey Short Ladies!

I totally do not cheap material for work. Do you know what brand? I can sometimes find the George line at my Wal-Mart, but not always.

    Hey Short Ladies!

Can't afford to pay the extra $$ $75 for a pair of petite pants at Lane Bryant that are 12 inches too long require more than just hemming, they practically have to be rebuilt. I appreciate the thought, but this is a fashion industry problem. Petite is 5'4" and under. At 5'2" Petite pants should not be 12in too long. At any rate...buying the capris once a year works great most of the time, but after WLS, there's too much change to dole out that kind of moolah.

    Liquid Diet

I could give you a line, but truth is...it was just me...constantly reminding myself WHY I was doing itself. Of course, it was also me talking myself out of the McDonalds Drive Thru.

My surgeon gave me a PPI to take as needed.

Who do I need to ask for?

The customer service reps are used to this type of question and they can get you to the right person. I have UHC, but I got my answers that way.
  23. Been MIA for a few days.  My 42 year old hubby had a stroke on Saturday.  He will be ok, we have been blessed with no long term effects, just questions. Trying to take time to eat mindfully through this stressful time.

Thanks guys! He is doing better. He has a hole in his heart that they will have to fix, so we are waiting on information about that, but otherwise a-ok. Of course the running joke now is that I had to get better and stronger so that he could fall apart for awhile.

So sorry! I hope he gets better soon with a full recovery! Loving the running joke though!
