Hey everyone, I’m a year out from gastric bypass (12/27/16) Me and my fiancé want to start ttc, but there’s an issue. Backstory: I’ve been obese all my life and have struggled with my periods ever since I started (around age 12-13, I’m 30 now) I have been on birth controls before (oral & depo shot) to try to regulate my period but nothing ever happened so I quit taking it. Longest period was 9 months and longest I’ve gone without it was also 9 months. I’ve been diagnosed with Menorrhagia (heavy & prolonged bleeding)I have been to numerous dr appointments and all have said that they don’t think I have PCOS but can’t rule that out but I did have Pap smears & a colposcopy to screen for any abnormalities, cysts, etc- all negative. Being a year out me and my fiancé want to start ttc but I thought maybe ovulation at home tests might help me. The problem is since I never know when I’ll start or stop my period I don’t know how these will work, so I was looking for other people who might know what I’m talking about. Please, share your experiences. I’m all ears.
