I'm curious about this too for New Years. I was sleeved 11/23. I know if I ask my surgeon he'll say that's too soon.

I've been cleared for Decaf coffee on all stages. I got it in the hospital the morning after and it was amazing. Might want to check with your doctor but I think the worry with coffee is that some research suggests caffeine is hard on the stomach lining and can cause more acid production. Long story short, decaf is fine!

My doctor moves things at a much slower rate! I'm in puréed food from week 3-6. Week 2 is "full liquids", so no yogurt or anything. Otherwise seems similar just a lot faster!

I'm on my 3rd day post op. Yesterday I was 5 lbs heavier than the day of the surgery. Today I'm 2 lbs lighter than the day of the surgery. I'm also glad to hear it is normal!!

First, I am an extreme extrovert so I told lots of people because I needed the support. However, I think it's perfectly fine to not give any answer except "my medical issues, including my weight, are personal." It is astounding how invasive people can be about others weight when they would never dare ask such specific questions about other medical issues.
I have think telling and not telling can both battle major issues. Telling can take away some stigma for people who want it done. Not telling can be a stand against the majority of people who feel the need to police overweight people's bodies.
Either way, I hope all sleepers feel empowered with their decision!! ❤️

Phew!! Glad you got that taken care of and are doing better!! I'm just dealing with the gas pain but it's manageable (with meds!)

I had mine today too!! And so funny how you said it did not compare to a c section--when I woke up in recovery without pain meds I quickly realized I could never give birth! Lol!

Thanks y'all!!! It got much better after pain meds so thank you for pointing out that it's probably swelling! And also thank you for pointing out about the warm liquid-I did notice the chicken broth went down much easier. Great tip!!!

Just got sleeved today, 11-23 at 7am!! So far doing pretty great, except I feel like I have a normal stomachache? It hurts to drink. Did anyone else experience this and if so, what helped? I'm still in the hospital until tomorrow morning.

I'm new to this, but it seems a lot of hospitals have support group meetings once a month. That may help give you the direction and goals you are looking for!

My mom stayed and it was helpful to have someone do things so you don't have to get out of bed (get chapstick, move tray, get remote if it drops etc). Might be worth asking the hospital if they have a pull out bed in the room.
