    angry and betrayed

Wow what a mess, hang in there but something to consider is if it's stressful now how are you coping, if the answer is food, imagine if that were not available? I'm still struggling with that 4 months out Also I'll second Amy, I also had a full hysterectomy and like you was exhausted and out of work a lot longer than I thought. But I had a band revision to duodenal switch sleeve and gallbladder surgery on a Wednesday and went back to work on Monday(not super energetic but I could sit at my desk) I wish you luck it's a challenging journey but I'm down 60lbs so it sure helps Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I'm 10 weeks post op, I have struggled with the protein powder and getting enough liquids. And I did try 100 diets and excersise. But your body gets stuck at a set point. Know that if you take this risk you may have complications or you may lose a lot of weight and feel healthy!! Doesn't mean you'll be happy that's a whole other issue and def connected with our relationship to food. Either way it's a personal decision, and good or bad never be ashamed of a decision to take a chance on life!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I am 10 weeks post op, lost 50lb so I'm feeling great, just know how important following the diet is, you can really hurt yourself if you try to start eating solids early. Hang in there! The only thing I still eat from the liquid phase is popscles. I try to remind myself that eating what I wanted got me in this place so it's my time to sacrifice for my health Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. I admit it I am having a mental battle with Protein powder, actually shakes as well. If I mix a shake to drink I literally want to throw up ( I actually have) I can stomach some premier but I know I'm supposed to drink 4 a day. I am 10 weeks post op sleeve, doing well except for feeling hungry and tired most days. Also had a vicious UTI last week. ER said I was dehydrated. I'm down 45lbs I'm struggling. I would love some ideas for mega high protein suggestions. Or how to break through this mental block Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Premier Protein - Gas

Don't count out that it may not be the shake, I don't drink them and my farts stink too! Look at anything else you may have added, this is why they say try one new food at a time or almond milk etc. I'm still on liquids but I'm tracking which Protein shake mix is better or worse. Good luck I totally understand Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I am 3 weeks post off from the same revision. My pre op and now 4 week post. Op is clear liquid with Protein drinks. I'm so sorry to say you will have an exciting holiday meal if sugar free Jello, turkey broth and oh yeah choc Protein shake. But think if all the holiday meals you did eat got you where you are. My suggestion politely tell people you will miss the meals and meet for coffee and gifts afterwards. Let others cook Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    help, feel like a wimp

You are not alone, my surgery is also Nov 23 and I am on day three of the clear liquid diet, I am so shaky and tired I can hardly stay at work. I'm trying to not let myself get hungry, so Ive been drinking all day, shakes, broth, Water, crystal light then I start all over again. I'm already over Jello and heads up, beef broth is disgusting. I'm planning to try and read a lot and keep busy as someone said. Ofcourse its potluck season as well, so I'm not sure how that will go over. I guess just one day at a time, one minute at a time. Its sad I'm looking forward to going to bed everyday so I don't think about food. I'm also going to start journaling. Ok off to drink more water!!
