This is so smart! My doctors also told me to wait a year before I have a drink. My best friend is getting married in July so I have the bachelorette weekend and wedding with no alcohol I will just have to psych myself out! Pregnant for the day lol

I submitted to insurance on 2/27 and I got approved today 3/10. My surgery is scheduled for 3/22. & I also went through Medicaid in the state of Florida and I am so excited to start this journey! My doctor told me it could be as late as June before I had my surgery so I am very thankful the process took less than a month!

Hey everybody!!! I am so excited I got approved for surgery and scheduled for March 22nd! This is all happening so fast and I really thought I would be able to count on my family for support but is seems like no one is really being that supportive. I told my brother and he asked me if I was sure that I wanted to do it....After a year and a half long process of getting my insurance requirements and other issues that have come up...YES I am sure! My mom also when I told her she replied that she has been loosing weight by cutting out meat and that I should try to do that before I do it lol. She was very adamant about me doing the sleeve and I chose the bypass which I think she is still upset about.... Anyway I'm not letting anyone steal my joy but I would like to know how anyone out there who has family or friends that don't really understand weight loss surgery got through the process without wanting to curse somebody out

Yes thank you all for the feedback and yes I was talking about hips and thighs...like an hourglass I know someone who had the bypass and has no shape anymore she is just straight up and down but I agree with you @djmhr being healthy is more important. I just want to prepare myself either way

Hello I am curious to know if anyone had trouble keeping their curvy shape after the bypass. I think I see more women who keep their shape with the sleeve...I would like to hear if anybody lost all their curves or if they stayed in tact?

Hi!
I'm a 28 yr old female & I just had my a consultation with my surgeon today. Initially I wanted to get the sleeve but after talking to him I am now considering the bypass. He said I could choose either one. I know a few people who have gotten the bypass years ago and they have had complications and have had to have more than one surgery. I would really like to hear from people on both sides on whether they had any issues and if they did have issues if in the end they believe it was worth it...the though of not being able to eat certain foods for the rest of my life is a littler nerve racking but I would like to also do something that I know will be effective as I would like to loose at least 100 pounds. Any feedback is appreciated!
