About Me
I have severe Hashimoto's Thyroiditus and Severe Menopause. NOT a good combo for weight gain and retention. And I'm a food addict for sure. Lap Band was the worst decision I ever made. Did not control my appetite and I had a big one. Did not have any effects on the Lepton and Ghrelin hormones, which are unbalanced in my case. Never felt enough restriction. Horrible doctor, even when husband came with me. Dr. Terry Simpson refused to work with my endocrinologist. He literally told my husband and I that what the Endocrinologist said was Bullshit! He and his staff were cold, scolding, and patronizing. Only lost 15 lbs. in 5 months. Then I gave up. After ending up in the hospital ER for severe pain in Aug. 2017 they drained my band and told me to get it out. New insurance came in January of 2018 and I began the fast track to revision from band to RNY. Surgery was 3-30-18. I am now 2 weeks post op and 19.5 pounds down from the beginning of the post op diet - 12.5 lost these past two weeks. I have signed up for counseling for eating disorder. I am determined to "fix my head" on food issues and succeed in regaining my health and my life!
