  1. I wonder if any one is experiencing thin hair?. I was told before surgery that hair lost is one of the side effects. My hair is thinning and this is not funny. Has any one tried anything that has helped?

I am great full with my weight lost at this point, hopefully still to loose more a little stalling but that's okay. Initial weight 200 lb, surgery date 10/10/16 current weight 157 so far.

  2. This was normal for me. I went plateau for a month, your body becomes use to what's going on and is holding back. Try increase your exercise a little more AS U CAN TOLERATE, then u are confusing your body with something new. Stick with your Doc orders and nutritionist, don't forget your Vitamins very important and good look on this journey.

  3. I have hypertension and the Protein shakes i have seen all have a high sodium amount. Are there any other brands that have low sodium? I know they are processed so will have high sodium, i just want one with lower sodium content. I have tried premier and muscle milk so far and am 12 days post op.

  4. I had surgery on 10/24. Tomorrow will be 1 week post surgery.

I knew everyone has different experiences but I've always done well with surgeries and medications and medical thing. This is nothing like I could have imagined. I knew I wouldn't be hungry but I don't think I actually grasped or frankly believed that was possible. Now I find myself barely eating anything. Not my Protein drinks or yogurt and drinking is the hardest thing in the world. It's physically painful in my chest to drink.

Emotionally I've felt at Rock bottom. The nausea after my surgery has me vomiting brown liquid and I kept whining "why did I do this to myself?" I've been a complete recluse ignoring phone calls and texts and in the spirit of complete honesty, I have not even Pet my dog since I've been home from the hospital. This animal I've taken care of since he was 8 weeks I have no desire to be around.

My family is incredibly supportive and I know this will make me sound ridiculously ungrateful... but they are so supportive it's annoying. I truly do know how lucky I am to have a family like I do because I have seen and read a lot about unsupportive families and spouses.

They keep telling me it will get better and that they know how I feel but how can they? They have not had this surgery and have no idea what it's been like this past week.

I just need to know if this does get better? When will I feel as amazing as everyone says they feel? When will I be able to drink liquids without pain?

I know that things will never be as they were and I'm glad for that, but today I just need to know that someone does understand the way I feel and that there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Sorry for the saga. I think that was officially longer than any opening credit of a star wars movie

  5. Im 4wks out and since i had the surgery, i cant stand any Protein shake. The dr wasnt so much concerned with Protein right now. Just me being able to get these fluids in.

Same here, Protein shakes too thick for me I am 3wks out. I have been taking Isopure, it is more thin liquid and 40gm of protein per bottle, it works for me. Try it.

  6. You need to speak to your team about this as they are the best people to ask.

Perhaps your body isnt ready for pureed foods yet and they will be able to guide you on how to transition to foods. Its a bit of a shock isn't it, feeling that ristriction! However its really early days for you, your stomach is healing so dont overly worry. Keep up with the fluids and Protein drinks and give them a call.

    Oh and Congratulations :D

    Thanks so much.
