What a concept...
Don't hesitate, do it. I promise you won't regret it. If your insurance doesn't cover it then don't stop there. You have options. Best of luck to you❤

What a concept...
There is just something so peaceful about losing weight and knowing that you have a permanent tool to help you forever. Finally having control is such a new concept for me. Getting rid of clothes in my closet confidently knowing that I'm done with that life. My brain is changing and I am so positive now that I've got this. This has always been a problem for me and it's held me back in so many countless ways that I had to sit down and think about it all. The list of ways I held myself back was so long and it made me sad. There is such shame in losing and gaining your whole life and I have lost and gained MY ENTIRE LIFE! I know no one outside of us on this journey can understand why, like REALLY why, we did this. This is so mental and I'm not stupid enough to think this is just a weight thing. This is no different than a drug addiction and we have a reason (a different reason for all of us I'm sure) that we do it and our brains need to transition as well! What a beautiful day it was today as I went through my clothes and confidently tossed them for donation. I'm never going back! I'm growing as I shrink and I like it!

Question about incision sites
Totally normal, just scar tissue. Mine was like that and now completely flat and fine. If it is sore or oozing call your doctor. Lump is totally normal though.

Females with pcos post op please help....
Same exact story here girl! It was awful, heavy, and lasted 3 weeks. PCOS is the worst. Before that, I was very irregular also. Months would go by with nothing!

Who is choosing to keep surgery a secret?
Nope, no one but the hubby. It's a private decision and I don't need to hear everyone else's opinions. I would recommend not telling. So much more relaxing!

That is quite the awesome NSV!!

Ok im scared now!
Pain on the left side is normal (it's from the muscles being cut through and the stomach removed), the lump is normal (part of the scarring/healing process), and the dizziness is also since you're not likely eating much. It's all a normal part of the healing process and it happened to me too. It will all be over very soon and a distant memory! Every day will be better. Of course, always check with your doctor because I'm not one. Take care!

A bit of a shock and a hard lesson
I love tuna salad

A bit of a shock and a hard lesson
Bring along a can of tuna with the pull top, some mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, hot sauce, in little packets as an emergency meal. I keep it at all times. It has come in handy when I forget I need to eat on a schedule now!

BariatricPal Team MX with Dr. Illan
@@Laughitup Hey there! Congratulations, I am so excited for you! I did a bunch of research and ended up taking just what I needed. You will be fine on your own and probably enjoy the time to yourself. -Be sure to take some cash for shopping, eating out 2 days, uber fair, and tipping if you want to. I took about $200 in cash and I didn't even spend it all. Be sure to have some 5's 10's and 20's. If the valets got something for me then I usually tipped them. Uber and dinner are extremely inexpensive. Uber was $3 and I think my dinner was like $7 and it was a nice place. I paid for my valets meals also but it was super inexpensive. -Don't bother bringing food, Stacy has you covered and you won't need it. -Bring something comfortable but cute to wear while shopping around and eating out so you don't feel so "post" -comfy clothes-you will be puffier than normal (BUT NOT FOR LONG ) -gas x strips -small extension cord for you phone because I had to get up every time I wanted mine -clear lip gloss or chapstick (my lips were dry) -Flash Drive for a copy of your surgery video, I actually watched it and thought it was cool but I'm weird -all your other typical toiletries and stuff. They did have shampoo and body wash at both the hospital and hotel and I actually thought it was pretty good stuff. I didn't use the one I brought from home. I am so super excited for you!! Please let me know how it all goes and don't waste anytime worrying and wondering if you're going to live through it all because you will and you will love it over here on the loser side! I had such a good time...really! I'm adding you to my buddies. Take care

surgery 11/7 been doing great, but now intense stomach aches
Mine was 11/18 and I haven't experienced this. This may be one to ask you doctor about but I have heard of a bunch of people becoming lactose intolerant or having food sensitivities. Are you introducing new foods one at a time to try to narrow it down?

Feeling kinda down
You will lose!! Keep going and don't let this get you down!
