OhHeyMarina got a reaction from dominyks_mom in Cook book!
Got these cook books today, I know they are for after surgery but thought I'd share for those of us who haven't had it yet to be prepared. I've gone through all the books and they have great recipes! Hundreds of recipes between the 2 books and they tell you step by step and how much of everything you need, they even already list the macros for you so you know the nutrition of everything as long as you follow the serving portion in the books you will know exactly what calories, Protein, fat, carbs, etc it has and in "eating well after weight loss surgery" every meal in that book can be made no matter what stage you are in after surgery, wether you are in purée or finally able to eat solid things each meal can be made and it teaches you how to make the modifications for each. Just thought I'd share for any of you interested

OhHeyMarina got a reaction from sandra_dee in Sodas
This post kinda has me laughing because it shows how every bariatric surgeon does and says a bit of different things, like my bariatric team does call our sleeve our new "pouch" and does say to NEVER drink soda or any carbonated beverages again or it will stretch. So I think thats why we all think one way to another, not to say anyone is wrong, but maybe we all should just realize that when people write a post there is a good chance they are saying what they were taught by their surgeon and honestly should probably follow that, so just keep that in mind if you were taught different and wanna correct someone, thats all I think its great to hear peoples experiences with things like this, because I honestly could not imagine never being able to have sparkling Water which i actually love, so I'm happy to hear that people been drinking carbonated beverages just fine, like my mom is 15 years out from surgery and drinks soda and maintained her weight all these years, but my friends dad had it drinks soda all the time and his weight aint so good 5 years out, so everyones advice is great! just keep in mind everyone will react different to things! what works for someone might not work for you! either listen to what your surgeon says or take your own risk and see what happens may work for you may not but much respects to the vets who are trying so hard to help all us newbies!

I was told that there is a 'group navigation' box on the right hand side of the page in the December 2016 Sleevers Group. You might have to scroll al little it might not be top right for you so just scroll till you see it and you click on 'group navigation' then 'group discussion' and you could start a new thread! For some people that is showing up and for others its not so someone told me they contacted technical support so it might be something wrong so if you do see it, thats how you as a member can start a thread, if you I'm trying to figure it out!

I made a group called "December 2016 Sleevers!" I would love for everyone who has a surgery date in December to join! lets be a great support system for each other and go on this journey to a better us with great friends. Share our success and failures along the way, cheer each other on, wether you already have support from your family and friends or from nobody at all like I've unfortunately seen from some, lets make sure we definitely have each other to lean on! btw they say you normally gain weight around the holidays, are we crazy?! haha

Question everyone! Would you all like if I personally inputed your dates into my calendar and kept track of them and then day of your surgery made a personal post about you to were everyone can write you wishes and good luck and show how much we care and so on? Instead of responding so that this post doesn't get crowded and can just be for the dates so they are easy to find, if you like that idea could you just give this post a like please? Thank you everyone!

Lol I figured if I give myself at least 2 minutes between bites I should have it gone in the 20 minutes. If I start feeling sick I am either eating too fast or I wasn't ready for the food just yet. You will be able to tell when you're getting full. They will tell you in the hospital too, but early on you will get full faster because of the swelling, so when you start feeling full, get up and walk around first before you completely stop eating.
