  1. I would like to know that too. I have been eating grits and mashed potatoes because they are filling. I am at a stall loosing weight though. How have you been since your first fill? Do you have more restriction and eat less?
  2. I had my surgery on 10/31 and the first 2 weeks were the hardest with hunger pains and feeling weak. I am totally back to normal now and I am so glad that I had the surgery. As many people say...I wish I had done it sooner. I have lost 22 pounds and already feel better about myself. I still have an issue with portion but I am hoping that gets better as I start to get my fills. I am 44 and started out at 228 and now weigh 206. Can't wait to break that 200 barrier!
  3. I was sore for about a week and had no energy at all. I only took my pain meds for 2 days but made sure that I kept them in my system (taking every 4 hours).
  4. Happy birthday and congrats on this great success!
  5. Welcome. I was just banded on October 31st. I hit a stall in loosing weight around the middle of the 2nd week and now have hit another stall. Once I started Puree I just completely stopped loosing. I am hoping it will start back up soon. I have a fill scheduled on Dec 13th. I don't think there is anything to worry about.
  6. Sorry I was trying to type and my phone was going crazy. I have seen so much negativity on lap band on this site. It is pretty discouraging. I felt this was the right choice for me but now I am having doubts with all of the negative post. I hope my band is a success!
  7. Are you banded or do you have the sleeve? Your profile says Gastric Sleeve?
  8. @@Treadmillwalker ... I am have been doing great physically. I just worry because I eat way more than I am suppose to because I have no restriction. Not eating as much as before surgery but eating more than what my doctor recommends. I haven't lost any weight over the last couple of weeks. I keep yo-yoing with 3 lbs.
  9. I was banded in October also....October 31st. How have you been doing since surgery? Have you had your first fill yet?
  10. I was thanking you for the response on your experience. Wasn't suggesting otherwise.
  11. Amazing Transformation! I am just starting out and this is very encouraging.
  12. Mine was only 30 days from the scheduled surgery date that my doctor gave them.
  13. @ Maybe you will have some restriction now. I don't believe my doctor put any in my band so you can imagine how I want to eat...lol I can't wait for my appointment but I still have 2 weeks. Your doctor sounds more aggressive.
  14. OK...thank you! I can't wait to try it. I was worried that I may have to cut it out of my diet.
  15. Congrats...what an amazing accomplishment! You look awesome!
  16. @@cz.99 Just checking on you since surgery. Hope you are doing well. Things should be getting much better now.
  17. I went through a depression stage but it was in the first 2 weeks. The first week was more of "What the hell have I done?". My depression has gotten much better since moving to pureed. I also have no restriction and have felt like the weight is not going anywhere. I keep loosing and gaining 3 lbs. It is discouraging but I honestly feel like I can eat anything, almost as much as before surgery. Let me know how your fill goes...I believe you are getting it today.
  18. I was banded Oct 31st and have a question about spicy food. I LOVE spicy food and was wondering if any of the seasoned bandsters could give me some insight on eating it in the future. Does spicy food have any effect on you and how long after surgery did you wait to try it?
  19. That's funny cz.99. That never crossed my mind about having to pee during surgery. I've had 2 kids so I guess it just doesn't even phase me...lol Glad your surgery went well. That first week on liquids I remember thinking "What have I done?" but that feeling has went away now and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.
  20. @@cz.99 How did your surgery go? I started out at 228 and I am now 207 3 weeks post op. Hope everything goes well for you. Stay in touch!
  21. That's a little discouraging...I was hoping to be able to tell some difference after the first fill. I guess I will have to be patient!!! Yes, it is band hell. I can't eat as much as I use to but still want more than the 2-4 ozs my doctor suggested.
  22. @@OzRoo .... That pizza looks amazing!
  23. @bayougirlmrsc Not pushy at all! I appreciate all of the advise and will definitely consider it all. I had my husband take pictures of me the day of my surgery at the hospital. I will hopefully remember to take them monthly. I am already obsessed with the scales. I weigh daily...sometimes more than once. I know I am going to drive myself insane! I have no fill in my band now and can't wait for my first fill to see how much of a difference it makes. I see we were close in weight and I am also in an 18 but they are very loose on me now. Can't wait to buy new clothes but I know I don't need to go crazy as I hope to keep on loosing. How many cc's do you have in your band? and how much do you get with each fill? I forgot to ask my doctor how much he puts in on each fill.
  24. @Rusti Jacobs...my doctor doesn't do a fill until 6 weeks after surgery so I don't get mine until Dec 13th. You'll have to let me know how it goes.
