    The day is here!

You've made it this far! You got this!

    Weird notice

My feet are smaller post surgery too, yes. You're not alone.

    Terrified of puréed phase

If you think it'll be terrible, it will be. You'll find ways to make it so. It's human nature. I know I've done the same thing. However, what if you flipped the script? What if, instead of convincing yourself it'll be terrible, you convince yourself it'll be just fine? Then you'll find ways to make it just fine. This flipping the script skill isn't easy to master. But it's like a muscle; the more you flex it, the stronger it gets. And believe me, it'll be a valuable skill to have during your weight loss journey. Good luck. You are not alone.

    Hungry after surgery

It's more head hunger than anything. When I was at your stage, I felt like I was drowning in hunger. Then, all of a sudden, one day I didn't feel hungry anymore. Your day is coming soon, I bet! Good luck. You are not alone.
  5. You lost 28 pounds in two months & you're complaining?! Did you ever put on 28 pounds in two months? I bet you didn't! Bluster aside, what you're experiencing is well within "normal" ranges. As long as you're doing what you're supposed to do (you are, right?) your body will start losing again. Welcome to your new life. You are not alone. Good luck.

    Liquid diet (pre op)

Herbs & spices have little, if any, caloric content. However, they can pack a lot of flavor! Unless your surgical team tells you otherwise, feel free to use them liberally! Good luck. You are not alone.

    Family gatherings

With all due respect, it sounds to me like the real problem here isn't how to manage food; it's how to manage extended relatives. There are MANY threads here about keeping surgery a secret or not. The approach I took when I was sleeved was to tell EVERYBODY. I was very upfront to family, friends, & strangers on the street! Only once did I get a negative reaction. Ironically, it was from the person I knew who needed WLS the most. My suggestion? Read a few of those "secret or not" threads. Then tell everyone what you're doing. They'll appreciate your honesty. Then dealing food becomes easier. Good luck. You are not alone!
  8. First, don't beat yourself up. Instead, be your own best friend. What would you want your best friend to tell you about buying all those? Whatever that is, tell yourself that. Say it out loud to yourself if need be. Next, I urge you to reconsider your relationship with food. You know this item is your food trigger. Instead of thinking of the pleasure it brings you, focus on the pain it brings you. Think about how it makes you feel. One you reach the point that you understand that food item is hurting you more than helping you, "break up" your relationship with that food. It's a toxic relationship so let it go. Good luck. You are not alone.

HELP!!! What's Tea with this coping mechanism bs

I'm going to respectfully challenge this entire premise. Food hasn't worked FOR you (or me, or pretty much anyone). If it did work for you, you wouldn't pursue weight loss surgery. Instead, realize that food has been working AGAINST you. It's a huge source of stress for you. The good news is you're soon going to set that huge source of stress aside. You're going to develop other, much more healthy, coping mechanisms. We don't know what that will be for you, but we'll be cheering you on as you discover it. Good luck. You are not alone.
  10. For me it was three or four days sleeping on my side post surgery before I ended up back on my stomach. If you feel pain laying on your stomach, give yourself permission to sleep on your back or side until you're ready to sleep on your stomach again. Good luck! You are not alone.
  11. Each bariatric team has its own rules. Contact your team & ask specifically why no black coffee. Advocate for yourself. If they give you an answer you don't like or understand, challenge them. Remember that what happens in your home is ultimately up to you. Good luck! You are not alone.

    Drinking Too Much Too Fast

First, you didn't stretch your sleeve. Second, many of us struggle to get in enough water, even well after surgery. My recommendation is to have water nearby at all times. I have some right near me as I type this! Having it nearby will make it easier to take sips more often. Good luck to you! You are not alone!

    Day 3 Post Op

Wonderful! Congratulations on your smooth transition. If you have days that feel like things aren't going your way, keep days like this in mind. You got this!
  14. How's your blood pressure? It sounds like it may be low. Good luck. You are not alone.
  15. SO MANY posts on this forum begin with, "Am I the only one who....?" No matter how that question ends, it starts with the fallacy that we are alone in this world. You are NOT alone. Did I have doubt about whether this surgery would work for me? Hell yes! I've never met a WLS patient who didn't have doubts at some point or another. You're at the toughest, most fearful part of your journey. But here's the good news: Just ahead there's a fork in the road. You're going to have WLS & things are going to change for you. That's super exciting! And we'll be with you every step! Good luck with your surgery. Stick around in the POST surgery forum & help others along their journey too! You are not alone.

    Today’s my day!

Congratulations! See you over on the POST surgery forum!
  17. You haven't logged but that doesn't mean you shouldn't start. Don't make stuff up. Instead, be honest. Show that you're losing weight & ask for strategies to help you start logging. Good luck!

    Coffee? Where art thou coffee?

Try it. Tell us how it goes.

    Coffee? Where art thou coffee?

In my experience, you can have coffee as soon as your stomach tolerates it. If I recall, that was a week or two after surgery for me. Have a sip, wait, see how it goes. If it feels good, have another sip, wait, see how it goes. If at any point it hurts, stop. Your coffee has 800 calories? My cup of black coffee has 5 calories. Choose well!
  20. I had WLS in Massachusetts & about a year later moved to California. The hospital I worked with in MA is a bariatric center of excellence. However, once I moved, they weren't helpful at all. They wouldn't suggest any names to contact for followups. Instead, they told me to go online & find support. They said it in a nice way, but almost useless is almost useless. I hope your experience is better. Good luck!

    Family support

It sounds like this isn't about you. This is about your mom's own fears about herself. See, if you lose weight & are successful, then she no longer has an excuse to not do something permanent about her weight. False. Invite your mother to this forum. Good luck. You - & your mom - are not alone.

    Sleeve to Bypass?

I haven't had revision but I'll be watching this thread closely. It's something I'm considering. No matter what, please stop beating yourself up. That's not doing you any good. Instead, what if you treated yourself better than your best friend? You're not a failure. You're not alone. Good luck.
  23. I'm curious why you'd have to be off those meds. Were you told why? Regardless, good luck to you. You are not alone.
