    Pre Op Diet Nightmare

You are not alone. Remember that pretty much everyone on this board has gone through the pre-op diet. We made it & so will you. You can do this.

    Coffee

I first tried it two or three weeks after surgery. I added some cream at first, but that quickly went away. My suggestion? Have a sip. Wait 5-10 minutes. If you tolerate it well, have another sip. Repeat. If you don't tolerate it well, you're not ready. Good luck!
  3. This question comes up often. I'm sorry you're experiencing this. You don't deserve it. I didn't lie. I didn't hide my surgery from anyone. In fact, when I told people, the realized I trusted them by sharing this information. I had many more people be supportive than I ever realized. Good luck to you, whatever you choose.
  4. I've seen "The Biggest Loser" & "My 600-Pound Life". Both make me ugly cry so I don't watch them. If you gain inspiration from them, go for it!

    1 week

Try a spoonful. See how it goes. If it goes well, have another spoonful. If it doesn't, don't. That's really how each of us reincorporates food. Good luck. You are not alone.

    PreOp diet worries

It seems like every person is concerned they will be one person who doesn't lose weight on the pre-op diet. If you truly believe that, you'll will it to be true. Instead, do what you know you need to do & you will lose weight. Good luck. You are not alone.

    Omeprazole intake

If you don't need it, don't take it. That's great! I'm three years post op & I still take it daily. Each of us is a little different. Good luck to you!
  8. I cried many times before surgery & after too. It's okay. You're not alone.

    So glad I’m not alone

You are not alone. That's one of the strongest messages to learn in this group or any other. Welcome!

    Wonderful! Congratulations!

    Salsa?

I've never heard of this. Do us all a favor: Ask your nutritionist & report the reason back here for all of us to learn from. Thanks.
  12. Clearly you're going through a lot right now. I love that in the face of extreme difficulty, you're choosing to take care of yourself. That's wonderful! During your appointment, tell your surgical team not only about your home life but also your knee & calf. They should be very attentive to your concerns. Good luck. You are not alone.

    Protein comparisons

I'm a big fan of Isopure. I'm sipping some as I write this! Good luck!

    Lady at work

I'm sorry this is happening to you. You don't deserve it. The next time she makes a comment, get uncomfortably close to her, look her right in the eyes & quietly tell her, "With all due respect, you aren't helping." Good luck!

    Pre-Op Appointment Questions

All good questions. Good job being so thorough. They'll answer many of these questions before you get a chance to ask. The question I wonder about is asking for a copy of the video of them performing the operation on you. First, I strongly doubt they'll do that. Why? That's evidence for a malpractice lawsuit. Also, do you *really* want to see that? If you think you do, I suggest watching some YouTube videos of the procedure & then decide if you really want to see YOU being cut open. Good luck.

    Vomiting dry blood

I'm sorry this is happening to you both. You don't deserve it. It's not something everyone goes through. I've been lucky that in the three years since I was sleeved I haven't thrown up once. Good luck to you both. I hope you get the medical attention it sounds like you need.
  17. I don't know where you read that but that's certainly not everyone's experience. I was sleeved three years ago. I spent one night in the hospital & went home the next day. The day after that I got on a treadmill. That first day I walked 0.1 miles. The next day 0.2 miles. Then 0.3 miles the next day. I took it slow, listened to my body, & soon I was walking 2 miles plus. That's when I started upping my speed. Each person is different. Start slow when you feel ready. Then slowly increase distance, speed, resistance, etc. Good luck!

    Nosy coworkers

I just told people I was having weight loss surgery. Everyone I worked with was super supportive, especially since they realized I trusted them with this detail about my life. They appreciated that & showed it.

    Severe diarrhea 3 weeks out

I'm sorry this is happening to you. You don't deserve it. Keep your appointment. Even if things resolve before then, chat with your medical team about what to do if this happens again. In the meantime, have you considered Imodium? That's temporary but could help things. Good luck!

    Hospital bag suggestions

Don't forget the charging cable for your phone! Some people may recommend Gas X strips. Some people have a lot of trapped gas after surgery. Some don't. I didn't. You can't predict. Good luck!
  21. You'll probably need to submit proof of your supervised weight-loss program to your insurance company for approval. Good luck!

    Dizziness 2 months out

I'm sorry this is happening to you. You don't deserve it. However, it's very common. By chance, are you on a blood pressure lowering medication? If so, it's time to talk to whoever prescribed that for you to have it adjusted. I took a low dose blood pressure lowering medication until about six weeks after surgery. I've been off it ever since. Good luck! You are not alone.
  23. I told everybody, including strangers on the street. I never have to worry about keeping my story straight or it coming out later that I lied to anyone. The only person who gave me a negative reaction was someone who could've used the surgery herself! She's no longer in my life so that's no problem. In my experience, telling people the truth is a less difficult than it seems. Good luck to you!
  24. I'm sorry this is happening to you. You don't deserve it. If you do the same things, you'll get the same results. But if you break the pattern, you may get a different result. So instead of starting with liquids in the morning, what if you started with something solid? Can't hurt to try, right? Good luck!
