  1. I'm sorry this is happening to you. You don't deserve it. When people verbally attack you, have you considered attacking back? What if you said something like, "By saying what you're saying, you're hurting me. You're making this worse." Make them understand their words have an impact. I enjoy confrontation & recognize this approach isn't for everyone. Good luck!

    Any tips?

Congratulations on your weight loss so far! You didn't mention exercise. Are you doing any? That's one way to get things moving. Good luck!
  3. Good luck! Congratulations! See you over on the POST-Surgery forum!

    Food craving pre-op

Change your state. When you find yourself thinking about food, get your mind doing something else - almost anything else. Good luck!

    Surgery day!

Did anyone else experience this? Yes! MANY of us did! You are not alone. Good luck! See you over on the POST-Operation forum.

    2 weeks away

    You should be! Good luck!
  8. I first joined this community to get support. Now, three years past surgery, I'm here to offer support to both the PRE & POST surgery forums. We see a lot of the same questions being asked: "HELP!" or "Is this normal?!" or "How do I do this?!" I just hope the people getting support stick around long enough to become veterans & offer support too!

    Belly Sleepers

It was about three days for me. I started sleeping on my side with a pillow for support. After a few days, I noticed I was pushing the pillow away during sleep until I was on my stomach. Good luck!

    Sugar alcohol

I don't consume sugar alcohols so there's no question for me. Good luck!

    Surgery almost here

You're going to handle it the way the rest of us did: One minute at a time. You're going to make it. Eyes on the prize: If you're two days before surgery, you've been approved for everything. Good luck & see you on the other side!
  13. The pre-op diet sounds easy until we actually have to do it. Some people want to start it early & run full steam ahead but too quickly run out of gas. This is hard. You're in one of the hardest phases of this whole thing. Know that every one of us who've made it to the other side has gone through exactly the same thing. Dig deep. Deeper than that. Find that source of inspiration. Good luck!
  14. You're going to do great! Good luck!

    Still going to classes

Most likely you'll get a surgery date after your cardiologist appointment & after your insurance company approves everything. There are so many moving parts to this process, it's no wonder you're confused! I know I was! If you have a specific question like this, ask your surgical team. We'll be able to sympathize but they'll be able to truly answer your question. Good luck!

    Weight lifting

The answer to the question of when to start any type of training is very individual. Some never move a muscle & let the surgery do all the work. IMO that's not the best way to go. Pre-surgery, as long as you're doing it safely, lift away! After surgery, depending on your tolerance, you may start light with walking & no resistance. I was on a treadmill two days after surgery. I started working legs & then arms a few days later. A week or so later I slowly started introducing ab work. Your mileage will certainly vary. Good luck!

    New found attention!!!

Imagine if the roles were reversed: Imagine if your spouse did something that suddenly made you more attracted to that person. How would you feel if you knew that person was questioning if your relationship was superficial? Get out of your head & enjoy yourself!

    How long is the stall?

I'm sorry, but there's no definitive answer as to how long a stall will last. Keep doing what you know you're supposed to do. Don't do what you know you're not supposed to do. Good luck!
  20. First, congratulations on your surgery & weight loss so far. You're doing great! You're telling us all the reasons you find it hard to be single. Instead, try telling us all the reasons you can be single successfully.

    New here, need support

"I am happy with how it’s going, but I know as soon as I stop I will gain it right back." If you believe that, it'll happen. Time to flip that script! Good luck!
  22. What many of us mean when we say we look bad in old photos is really, "I felt bad when I looked like that." To me, it sounds like you have a healthy outlook. Tha's great! Keep it up!

    Dry lips!

I'm sorry this is happening to you. You don't deserve it. Many of us struggle to get in enough liquids. I'm three years post op & I still struggle. I used to be able to chug water. That's not a thing for me anymore. Instead, it's sip, sip, sip, all day long. Good luck!
