  1. I got my gastric bypass on 9/20 and since then I have battled a stricture and ulcer. After multiple dilations I am only getting sick maybe once a week now. However, after months of not being able to eat, I feel like I can eat too much now. I can eat almost a cup of food now at one sitting and not even be full. I know that eventually that's the goal but isn't this like years out?? I'm afraid I've stretched my pouch beyond repair. Can you really reset your pouch? Please help any advice is appreciated.
  2. So I've posted on here before about my issues since surgery. I was vomiting daily after starting the mushy phase. Had my first EGD 4 weeks ago and had a stricture and ulcer. I was dilated from a 12 to a 17. I was good for a few days then began vomiting again. Had my second dilation a week ago went from 17 to 20 which is the highest he can go. Starting yesterday I began vomiting after eating again, continued in to today. So I feel like I'm back at square one. I don't know what's causing the vomiting and if it will ever stop. Has anyone else dealt with this? Especially after being dilated already? I'm just hoping things get better. I've already been in the hospital numerous times for dehydration and electrolyte defecienies. I'm also on extra thiamin and d3 for low vitamin levels and carafate for ulcer.
  3. I gag/vomit when I take my chewable vitamin. So today I picked up some store bought gummies. I know their not considered "complete" but some vitamins are better than none right? When did your dr allow you to start taking pill form multivitamins?
  4. I'm lucky enough to have really supportive friends and family. They all know how much I've struggled with my weight over the last 8 years. They watched me go from 160 to 309lbs and knew my health was dwindling.
  5. 27. Starting weight:309 Current weight:261 7 weeks out.
  6. I started at 309 at my highest before surgery and honestly I set small goals for myself instead of looking at long term. Right now I want to get to 250. That would be a huge accomplishment for me as that'd be the most weight I've lost in 9 years. I'm only 11lbs away from that goal at a month out. Then once I meet that I will go from there. I find the goal more attainable that way and it puts less pressure on myself. One day at a time.
  7. I will look forward to the 6 month mark thank you!
  8. My Dr actually gave me a card to take to restaurants stating that I am his bariatric patient and would appreciate a child size portion of the meal I order. Which as long as you don't mind people knowing that it's a great resource as you also get charged for a child's portion. Maybe your dr could do something like that for you.

    Anyone ever have a stricture?

Thanks everyone for replying. Hoping dilation one more time will do the trick. Def can't live like this forever or even the foreseeable future as I'm miserable. It doesn't matter how little of bites I take or how many times I chew my food gets stuck.
  10. Oh ya at week 4 I was definitely not glad I had got the surgery. I'm at a point where there's worst things than being overweight. I'm still dedicated to the process, but very weary.
  11. I'm 7 weeks out today and my recovery has been hell. I've been in the hospital 4 times for dehydration and vitamin deficiency. I have a stricture and ulcer. Couldn't keep food down for weeks which led to numbness in my hands and feet. Had a few good days after dilation but alas the stricture is rearing its head again. I am down 47lbs which is great but my weight loss was halted for about a week due to lack of nutrition. Still regretting my surgery at the moment, just need hope that it gets better. I didn't think my health would be effected for the worst after surgery.
  12. I had gastric bypass a month ago. 2 weeks later I was throwing up everything I ate due to the stuck feeling. Last Monday I had an EGD and dilation and for 4 days I was finally able to eat and not get sick. However, the last 3 days the stuck feeling has returned. Can your esophagus shrink back a little after the dilation? Has anyone had to have a second dilation? & did the second one work for you?
