Ladies only - IUD or Implant?

I had mirena inserted mid Oct and I got it taken out last week. It couldn't wait until it was removed. I had the worst experience with it and the pain. Oh god the pain. Turns out my body was physically rejecting it. I have issues with BC and have tried and tried may. I have PCOS and reverse endometriosis. My OBGYN recommended VSG to help Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sleeve and hiatal hernia

I had a hernia repair with my sleeve as well. Since I had the hernia repair that was the main surgery and so my insurance approved it right away. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I hate that I had this surgery

I'm sorry you are suffering so much. You made a big leap and life change and we all hope it goes in right. How devastating that it hasn't. My opinion and how I would personally deal with it would be to go to another Bariatric doctor. If you find a good one that has a good team they might help you through this and get you healing. My surgeons team was amazing. They take out of town patients and have a nutritionist that does online/video sessions. I would do some research and see if you can find a doctor who will be beside you during this journey. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Dreams

Ooooohhhh the food dreams. I am going into my fourth week post op and I swear week two and three I dreamt of foods and eating. It slowly has died down but it was every night for a while. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Not full

I am actually on solids already per my surgeon. You don't have to be only on liquids or puréed foods for that long according to my program. And I am doing great on them. Believe me. I did my research. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Not full

Word on the street is that as your stomach heals the nerves do as well and you start feeling restriction. I am at day 18 and am right along with ya. Just waiting for the healing to finish. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Sounds like you are doing fantastic! I completely understand the guilt but this journey is a marathon. So you tripped on a rock (and feel into some ice cream). Keep running and you won't even remember mid way through. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I am just finishing week three but the first week and half after my surgery I felt super bloated and heavy. I did weigh and I was losing but I think it was still some gases and swollen from the surgery. One day I woke up and felt a bit slimmer. Hope this helps. Week 3....

Sorry if someone has already posted about this. But I am into my week 3. I hear that it is a spot where people stall or can be a hard week. I decided not to jump on the scale to not discourage myself. And really focusing on water intake. But did anyone experience hunger during this week? All of a sudden today I am hungry and craving foods. This is the first time I have really felt like this since surgery. Just wondering how week 3 went for everyone else.

    Scale

I had my surgery two weeks ago today. And the first week was HARD. My emotions were all over the place. I was so bloated and kept thinking I have made a mistake. Protein shakes weren't going down and any liquid was a struggle. So I took a few days and just focused on getting liquids in and recovery. Taking the pressure off of having to get so much protein in helped mentally for me. Now at week two. And it's still hard. But I feel better. Have been back to work for a week and am moving to soft foods. Honestly I don't think anyone can prepare you for this process but being kind to your body and focus on one thing at a time seems to be the path for me..... so far. Pills

My surgery said to start taking pills normally the day of my surgery. It took about four days to feel that I could but haven't had any issues. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. Well I woke up feeling much better today. But now I have had to lay back down to rest because that pain has come back and it's uncomfortable again. Which doesn't make me want to drink anything and then it's a viscous cycle. No one called me back today. I am gonna call the office again in the morning and if I don't hear from them by noon I'll call Dr. Apel. It's just so weird that through the whole process they have been supportive and then drop the ball after surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Dr. Apel did my surgery too. Today was the first day I woke up feeling slightly normal. I was having pain trapped under my ribs and I think that didn't help. Taking the pills were really hard on my stomach. And drinking liquids is such a challenge. I have given up on trying to meet Protein requirements and trying to stay hydrated. I called the clinic and left a message and no one has reached out yet. I am just being patient and focusing on healing. I do admit Blossom was sooooo amazing but then after the surgery I feel slightly discarded. I am really glad I found this app to see that we all are struggling in our own way. I had my surgery on 10/28 and I was 267 and today 11/2 I am 260. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Omg! HalFAB-ulous me too! Friday morning at the Warm Springs center with IV treatment on Monday. I am so curious to see how you are doing? I have been struggling since and finally woke up today with a bit of relieve. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I would recommend going to GNC or something like that. They have several Protein waters in a lot of flavors. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    VSG Post Op Day 5

I was in hospital until Day 4 and not even close to getting enough fluids. Don't worry - concentrate on fluids first and then protein. It's more important not to get dehydrated which can happen quickly. Walk and move around. Rock back and forth even while just sitting, wave your arms around, March in place. Try different temps of fluids - hot tea, warm broth, Powerade Zero, etc. You'll feel better soon. One hour at a time! I am 2 weeks post-op. Thank you for the response. This app has really helped with the process. Good luck to you. 2 weeks op seems like an a lifetime from now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    VSG Post Op Day 5

Joy@boman thanks for replying it's been a bit discouraging. This whole process after surgery has been emotionally and physically exhausting. It's hard not to read some of the posts that people can drink their 40 oz of Protein and all their Water and feel great and I am still struggling to get comfortable. It's nice to know maybe it's just not me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    VSG Post Op Day 5

Sorry about your pain. I am currently 4 days post op and struggling. The pain I have is under the rib cage. A lot of pressure. It started last night. I am also struggling on getting any liquids or Protein in. Like 20 oz Water a day and maybe 20 grams of protein. Has anyone had these issues? Is this normal? Authorization....How Long?

Lol. I did that too! Luckily I got approved in a couple days since I was also getting a hernia repair. I would say try and relax. I just had my sleeve done this last Friday and the struggle has been rough since. I am not sure if I was completely mentally prepared. Try and take this time to be prepared for such a huge life change. The best advice I have is to have a margarita and relax. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
