  1. I was sleeved 2 weeks ago, and I'm recovering well. I think you just have to get through that first week of being sore post op, but it's totally worth it! Everyone is so different though, so you may have complications or you may not, there are no guarantees. I haven't been nauseous or had Gerd and I'm eating about 4 ounces per meal (puree/liquid). Each day has been different, some days I'm not hungry at all and others I still have "head hunger" and crave a taco. I haven't had any regrets so far. HW: 268 SW: 214 CW: 200. 2. I was sleeved 12/22 and I notice pressure/pain after I swallow until it hits my stomach, then it immediately goes away. It's more so with hot or thick things- broth, cream Soup, etc. And now I'm to the point where it doesn't happen with cold or room temperature clear fluids at all. I think it's getting better day by day. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  3. My pre-op diet is to just eat less than 1200 calories. I'm still eating solid foods though. I feel like I'm the only one doing this though :\ I hope my liver still shrinks Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

  6. I'm nervous and excited! I can't wait for 12/22 to get here. I'm a little nervous about recovery but excited about having some extra help becoming healthy. I'm HW 268 and CW 222 at only 5'2".

  9. I had my PT evaluation with John at the exercise training center in the UW Roosevelt building. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot, but I had never been to PT before. They have you do various activities to test your strength, flexibility and balance. They pinpoint areas that may need more strength training than others (mine are my weak hips) and send you home with a list of exercises to work on. They can also help you plan out how you want to incorporate or continue to incorporate exercise in your daily routine and tips for not injuring yourself. 11. I'm schedule for my sleeve on 12/22. Yay! I know everyone is different in how they heal, but I was wondering the likelihood of feeling well enough to leave the house and go over to my parents on Christmas? My husband would be driving me. Thanks! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

  13. I feel the same way. It was submitted last Friday, even though I know their turnaround is quick. I'm nervous to call because I've been denied in the past also. I got the call today! I'm scheduled for a sleeve gastrectomy on 12/22. Wow! This just got real! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  14. I'm hoping to have a sleeve gastrectomy at UW soon. I've completed all the tests and meetings with other team members. I did my final test review with the surgeon a couple weeks ago and I'm just waiting on insurance to give the okay. Its been slow but I did find the meetings with PT, social work and nutrition helpful. I think the worse part so far has been the esophageal manometry test. I could not stop swallowing and I think the tech was getting annoyed with me. I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  15. I haven't called my insurance or the clinic yet. I'm almost afraid that they will have bad news, that I've been denied. I have Uniform Med Plan and Premera. I don't have any comorbidities, but I still feel like I've met all of the qualifications. I'm just hoping to have it done by the end of the year.
  16. I'm in the same boat. My request for prior authorization was submitted on Oct. 24th and I've been waiting for the call ever since. I'm just trying to have patience and keep telling myself that it will happen as soon as it can and for now it's out of my control. It feels like agony waiting though, or like it might not really happen until I have the official surgery date. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
