  1. Don't give up appeal it again. Third times a charm...I've heard???????? I've also heard of people having their Dr office call insurance, maybe that could help you. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  2. Don't give up, keep trying, your surgeons office can work with them. What was their reasoning? If you don't mind my asking what's your bmi and do you have any comorbities? I am just staring my process, have about 38 bmi with hbp, would hat to wait this put to be denied. Off to Mexico for next it will be if this happens, just would rather know sooner than wait all that time to be denied. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  11. I too am just starting my journey, and have come on this site for information and support. We are also about the same size. I am also 42, 5'6" and currently 240. My highest was over 250, not sure of exact weight because the scale was my enemy. I have just been referred by my pcp to a surgeon, and have an appt. now scheduled on 11/15. Had one with a different surgeon, without my pop's knowledge but when I spoke to her she asked me to go to one she had affiliations with, which was fine with me. I am a little under 40 for my bmi, and it doesn't help I've been dieting these past few weeks as I felt I hot rock bottom on regards to my weight, so hopefully I will qualify without an issue, due to having hbp, and family history. Your friend probably isn't looking for a commitment due to just getting out of long term relationship, he's looking to have fun now. Just focus on you, and ev we ything else will fall into place. You may realize after wls that you deserve more than just a fwb Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  12. Prayers for you tomorrow!!! Just remember it gets better after the first couple days they say. ???????? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  13. I'm starting to go through at St. Elizabeth's now, tried reaching out on here but there doesn't seem to be many people from the Boston area who replied to me either, hope you have better luck with answers Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  17. Just wondering why your insurance denied you. I am just starting and would hate to go through all the work just to be denied too. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  18. Oh ok, just wondering. I am just starting my journey hopefully I'll be approved through insurance here, if not going to dr. Fernando Garcia too. I've read great reviews from him too. Dr. Ortiz also has great review but is a couple thousand more, but he has also trained surgeons in the US for the sleeve. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  19. Why are you not considering the sleeve? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  20. Hi Krissy, my bmi is also 39 and I am just starting my journey for vsg. What other issues do you have that you were approved for wls? I have hbp, hope that's enough as I've been overweight for c about 25 years. Also, how long was the process from your 1st appt. Until the surgery date? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  21. Hi all! I am new here as I am just starting my journey. I was wondering if anyone had sleeve surgery in mass using tufts health plan. If so, how long did It take from first appt until surgery? I have my first appt coming up this week and just wondering if it's a 6 month wait like I've seen some people say. Thanks for any help.
  22. You look great!!!! I'm just starting my journey, have my 1st appt. This week, hope to get results as great as you have had.
