    No where else to vent

That really stinks. I try to remind myself that love isn't promised. I have been where you are as far as losing a husband. Prayers and positive thoughts for you! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

New body brings new partners -- many new partners

Just be single. Why do you have to be in a relationship with anyone if your real goal is multiple partners? Karma sucks, so remember there will come a day when you will want someone to be faithful to you. Nothing wrong with enjoying your life, but there is something very wrong with deliberately hurting people who care about you. If you want to be a real gangster, tell the truth. 5. I think.the best thing to do is measure your food and stop eating when it's gone. Just because you can tolerate more doesn't indicate you NEED to eat more. Make sure you are eating the Protein, veggies and fruits suggested. I understand sleeve I'd different in that you guys don't dump. Eating bread probably won't make you feel bad. It will only prevent you from meeting the goals you have set for yourself. So again this becomes a case of yes you can, but does that mean you should? Why not save that knowledge for special occasions. Holidays and when you're out with friends. Have some of those sometimes foods that we all enjoy. Maybe you can strike a good balance and feel normal by allowing yourself to make good choices on a regular basis while still occasionally enjoying things that aren't suited for daily indulgence. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Is the sleeve really "just as good"

Hi all! I had rny because I had an existing issue with GERD. I could burp and acid would come out of my nose. Not pleasant. Sleeve can make GERD worse, or create it in people who never had the issue, so my surgeon advised rny. I walked in wanting the less invasive sleeve. It seems like a less permanent alteration since your intestines aren't re-routed. People seem to not have as many food in tolerances and they don't dump typically. However I will say this...Everyone is different. I have been blessed with no complications so far. I have a sleeved family member who recently had an issue, and a sleeved co-worker who has been in and out of hospital because she can't keep any food down. Some of this may be bad choices. Because they don't dump they could be maybe less cautious with their choices? Only they know for sure. I'm happy with my pouch, but many sleeves are thrilled and extremely successful. Let your situation make the decision. If your surgeon is trying to talk you out of rny, find out his real reason. It'd not about what everyone else is choosing, it's about what will be the best choice for you. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

  8. I'm going through a stall that I know is my fault. I will not list my sins, I will only say I'm ready to get back on track. I'm only 8 weeks out so it's too early to allow bad habits or lack of will power to negate this huge process I went through. I feel sort of lost in regard to what to eat. My fridge is on the fritz and I can't buy a new one until the 15th, so there are no proper groceries here. I could really use some support and encouragement. No negatively please. Has anyone fought themselves this early on? What worked to get you back on track? Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Dumping

So I experienced dumping syndrome, however I've been terribly constipated and I discovered I can not vomit. There is no relief if i eat something that disagrees with me. Is this normal? Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Protein shakes... yuck.

I guess i am one of the people who taste the difference. I don't care what they say, the difference is real and it's wretched. I tried to mix gene pro in a cup of coffee per the hot or cold mix instruction and all the powder just floated to the top and sat there like a crust that had to be broken in order to access the liquid. Blech. Now I just mix a scoop of the gross stuff with 2 ounces of Powerade zero and shoot it. It's the only way I can get that stuff down.! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Goal weight achieved!

Congratulations that is AMAZING! I'm not there yet but I consider you an inspiration. I am only 6 weeks out and fear I will not hit goal ever, or on the flip side that I will hit and it won't stop there and people will think I'm sick. : ( great work and I hope you rock maintenance! 15. I have the same fear. I've not been less than 170 since middle school. I'm so afraid of what 135-150 will look like on me that I'm very nervous. I never thought I would be afraid to be thin. Congrats on your amazing results! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  16. I'm not sure why, but now I smell absolutely everything...from burning toast in the break room to people's hair care products. I'm able to identify the main components of my coworkers lunches from a few feet away. I haven't been a smoker in over 5 years so I can't attribute it to that. Is anyone else experiencing this or can anyone offer a reason? Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Scared and don't know what to do... help

For me I was afraid also. I wrote letters and recorded videos for my daughter just in case. I increased my life insurance. I prayed a lot. I was so terrified, and then I woke up post op. And I was just fine. I am 1 month out. I switched surgeons 6 months into the process because I felt more comfortable going with the surgeon who performed surgeries on people I knew who were thriving. My doctor's office also recommended him. I went with a facility that offered divinci robot assisted rny gastric bypass. I had soreness and gas pain for about 5 days post op. It was tolerable and my pain meds were very effective. Day 5-7 the pain was more internal. My tummy hurt when I drank too much and if I lay on my side. I slept propped up on pillows on my back until it improved. By the end of day 7 I felt like nothing had happened. Of my 6 incisions, 1 was still sore to the touch. I had to mentally remind myself whenever I went to take a drink not to swallow too much because it felt so NORMAL. I spent week 2 in a state of disbelief. Not regret at all, but just...WOW. I Really had surgery. I really altered my anatomy. I couldn't believe it. If I couldn't see the scars it would be like nothing had happened. I know people who have had complications after. Every person is different. If you have comorbidities the risk increases. You can reduce that risk by starting a walking program now and sticking to your pre op diet once assigned. Do your best to stay hydrated and follow your doctors and nutritionists instructions. That is what you can control in your experience. Oh yeah, do your breathing exercises post op as directed! Pneumonia and lung adhesions are avoidable!!! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Mourning the loss of 'Favorites'?

Oh okay! That all sounds very reasonable. I thought you meant that you were still eating the way you did prior to surgery. That's actually really awesome! It sounds like the "normal" that many of us long for. I hope to one day be able to enjoy the ocassional slice of pizza too! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
