  7. Two weeks post op today and I have had some severe heartburn that comes and goes, but seems to be getting a little better with time. My surgeon recommended that I just continue with the Omeprazole for now.

  16. The banana cream. It sounded sooooo good... not so much. I think that I am also just sick of sweet stuff at this point.
  17. I had surgery on 11/18. I am feeling well aside from some heartburn issues which seem to be improving a little each day (I hope that I didn't just jinx myself). My main issue at this point is that I am struggling to get enough Protein. I'm only getting between 30-50 grams of protein a day, primarily from Atkins shakes which only contain 15g each. I've tried Premier Protein and Slimfast (recommended by the nutritionist) but they are just so gross and spending an hour forcing myself to drink one... yuck. I've tried adding unflavored Protein powder to strained cream Soups but that also has started to gross me out. I think that once I can start eating purees and adding the protein powder to those -- hopefully this weekend -- I will have an easier time, but did anyone else feel this way and did you face any ill effects due to lack of protein. On a positive note, I have lost 12lbs since surgery! I'm about to be under 200lbs, something that I haven't been for over a year!

  23. I can't talk about pregnancy after surgery, but I know that in my pregnancy (pre-surgery), I didn't really begin to put on weight until around 20 weeks or so and actually lost 5-10 pounds during my first trimester due to morning sickness. I am sure your OB will let you know if they have concerns and advise you on what needs to be done. Congrats!

  27. I had surgery on 11/18 and was able to go home the same day. I didn't really experience pain, just pressure/discomfort, which I am still having at times... kind of like intense indigestion that lasts for a few seconds, then fades.
  28. I was also sleeved on the 18th and for the first couple of days had a lot of pressure if I tried to drink, regardless of how small the sip, how careful I was not to swallow air, or the type/temp of the liquid. I've been much more successful today. Something that helped (or it may just been that more time had passed) was warm decaf peppermint tea. I am only now trying something thicker (working on my first Protein shake as I type this). Good luck!
  29. I was sleeved on Friday and able to come home the same day. I've spent most of my time home sleeping, walking and slowly sipping Water or tea. Did anyone else experience a lot of pressure (upper chest) when drinking? I am trying to make sure that I am not taking in too much air with my sips, but it seems like no matter how careful I am, I'm feeling pressure and discomfort.
