  1. Hi, I’m 18 months post sleeve. I use to feel like I had to eat every two or three hours, I would sit there and think about food all the time. Eyes always have been big for my stomach. But then I went out one day without breakfast and didn’t eat or feel the need to eat till afternoon. This made me realise that it was just head cravings and not hunger at all I was feeling. So now I try to stay active in mornings and afternoons ( even if it is cooking or housework) to avoid eating out of boredom and try to recognise the difference between that and real hunger. I’m getting better at it now. All the best to you [emoji4]

    Any advice...

I’ve been doing Keto for a year, I’m 18 months post sleeve. I’ve really turned off meat and chicken though. I have a piece of fish most nights. I do like bacon but it has to be really crispy for me to enjoy it. I find it very easy to eat salads, with egg or avocado and spinach leaves. And love nuts and seeds. So I make my own nut granola and if I want bread or a sweet treat make it myself Keto friendly. I tend to eat the same things every day. I like Keto because it reduces my appetite. I still have a lot of restriction though so that helps too. The sleeve has made it easier for me to stay Keto and give up bread and potatoes as they are hard for me to eat.

    Low BMIers

I had BMI of around 32, sleeved on 26th Sept 16. I've lost 20 kilos to date. Met my goal, but have now moved my goal weight down so have another 5 kilos to go. I'Ve felt all along I've lost slowly. Yet here I am only 4 1/2 months out and not that far away from goal. I have had no issues at all. Only positives. Best thing I ever did!

    Coffee?

I love coffee and have about 5 cups a day. I put my protein powder in it. I would rather coffee than food.

    Any regrets?

I had Sleeve Sept 27th 16, not once have I regretted the decision. I'm 5 kilo ( about 12 or so pounds) away from goal, off all medications I was on for BP and Diabetes, heart rate down to normal rate. I feel like I've increased my life expectancy by years and years. Had no problems at all. 55 years old [emoji4]

    Pity

I never feel like I'm missing out, people that have not had the surgery don't seem to get that when are full and can't eat anymore, you actually don't want anymore! It's not like you are sitting there wishing you could eat it, we are satisfied. ( never happened to me pre op) Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Shrimp gate

I don't get why anyone would be upset at what someone else ate! We are all adults, all have been obese, all ate too much of what we shouldn't of, and all hated being told what we shouldn't eat. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Chest "air bubble"?

I get this too when something gets stuck. It feels like you want to burp but can't. A couple of times I have thrown up after this feeling. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Temptations everywhere ...

I don't make my family stop eating in front of me at all. They are fit and healthy, I'm the one with issue. But it really doesn't bother me to be truthful, not since surgery. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
