My surgeon is 100 percent fine with coffee. Do I have six cups a day? No. I have one cup, or I take a Premier Protein to the coffee shop, have them steam it for me and add a shot of espresso.

I'm six months past bypass and 15 pounds away from goal. I have amazing energy, eat high Protein and low carb, do intense work outs four days a week and do yoga the other three. I have a great support team at my surgeon's office, check in with his nutritionist regularly and go to support meetings his office holds.
I didn't realize how sick and tired I was until I was no longer sick and tired. Zero regrets here. -
I'm five months out and my surgeon said I could have a cocktail on my birthday, at the end of the month. He gave me the caution of alcohol hitting harder than before, but I've always been a 'one and done' girl anyway. So one cocktail, sipped slowly, it will be.

Mix three bananas, a half cup of cocoa powder, two scoops of Protein powder and a half cup of no sugar almond or Peanut Butter. Scoop into mini muffin cups (lined) and bake for 15 minutes at 375. Store in the freezer. Tastes just like carpet underlayment but vaguely reminiscent of a fudgy brownie.

Yesssss!!!!! it is a beautiful thing I mean I have been a overweight man all of my life and I have never had any problem performing at all never had a problem getting it either always had a few on the team at all times. but dammit if I knew then what I know now I would of had the surgery a decade ago. I mean I'm on porn star status there is nothing I cant and wont do. energy level is on 10 and yes it is true when you lose weight it does look bigger what I find its not really bigger it less stomach to get in the way so your able to go deeper. I knew it was the case when getting it in with someone I got it in with a few times stated I was going to deep. sorry if this is to much for y'all grow folks. its just amazing how you transform so quick. 62 day post and 60lb down.
Yep. It's kind of insane isn't it?

You can make crust out of diced cauliflower and use the same toppings you already love...

Time to summon that same courage it took for you to get surgery in the first place and tell the FB crowd they should go ahead and block you. Harder to do with family, I know, but with your parents try a sweet smile and an, "Oh I know! But isn't it great that I can be healthy now and for the rest of my life?" It gives them no place to go with their cruelty.

Unfortunately my surgeon said absolutely no Flintstones or gummies so I am choking down other chewables. They taste horrible; I've tried 3 different brands so far...

My surgeon was yes on Flinstones, although I've switched to Centrum chewables (with his approval) because the flavor is less cloying. He's an absolute no on Patches, because the patch companies have thus far not shared research or proven that Patches work. I also take liquid B12 once a day and his office advised I should start on Calcium chewables as well.

My nutritionist wants 70 grams of Protein a day and 100 grams of carbs, with calories at about 1,000 to 1,100.

Add: I don't do that amount of carbs, but I try to get the Protein in.

Sonoma Creamery cheddar or Parmesan crisps, available online or at costco (and presumably Sam's Club, since I think they're the same thing.) Six crisps have a total of 10 grams of Protein and 6 grams of carbs. You can also top them with slivers of meat, refried Beans, etc.

@@emardee Thank you! I am going to give these a try. I am like Magilla Gorilla when it comes to bananas. I love them.
Me too. Half a frozen banana with a vanilla Premier and powdered Peanut Butter is like a liquid fluffernutter. Give it a whirl, pun intended.

I don't smoke it and I don't have a patient card, but I have a cannabis-based ointment that I use on my neck where I have a pulled muscle. It's legal in California for medical use and was made fully legal by voters in November-I spent a great deal of time writing about it for my job and people will just send me stuff as a result, so I have a box full of candies and edibles that I likely won't ever eat.

Okey doke.

It's coffee with coconut oil or butter added. Astronomical fat content, but supposedly keeps you full and energized for a long time. Not sure how it would fit into a high-Protein diet, but I haven't checked. Also, I've never tried it.
This has been your bulletproof lesson for the day.
I've heard the term bullet proof coffee but not really sure what it is.
Sounds like something I need to brush up on.

Jerky, cheese, Sonoma Creamery cheese "crackers" (it's baked cheese/quinoa thingie, 10 grams of Protein per serving, nice crunch), nuts, KIND bars (smoked Jalapeño my fave), cucumbers and hummus, tuna salad, turkey or ham smeared with mustard and rolled around cheese... new favorite is Premier vanilla blended with half a banana and powdered Peanut Butter. Delish.

Love my spiralizer. Just found a recipe for a cucumber/sesame salad that I think will go well with thai peanut chicken. Haven't branched out to spiralize potatoes or sweet potatoes yet, but they're on the list.

I'll usually do a Protein Drink or milk and a quarter slice of whole grain toast with Peanut Butter or cheese before a workout. I'm always worried that if I eat an egg beforehand, I'll burp eggs during.
Hey there. 2.5 months post op RNY. Tomorrow I start a boot camp work out program. I am trying to plan my food so that I have the energy I need. It's at 11 am so I think I can get two meals in. Anyone big into fitness. I am thinking of a shake and just before some eggs with cheese. And a shake after. Thoughts? Any help is appreciated.

I made sauces and dressings with it as well as adding to shakes, so yes, can definitely make satay with it.
