  1. Have the surgery! It'll definitely be worth it to have the tool to lose the weight and keep it off! Definitely work with your Ob/Gyn closely. As long as you expect the emotional roller coaster and recognize that you're on the ride, just hold on and you'll be fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'm almost 6 weeks out from VSG surgery (had hernia repair at the same time). I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago and let me tell you, I was not expecting this emotional roller coaster. The mood swings have been monstrous and I really don't think I need to go back to work just yet. I cry at random and get so angry at people I just want to yell at them (and have). It's been frustrating until I went to my Ob/Gyn and he explained what's happening internally (fat stores estrogen and losing weight fast causes an estrogen roller coaster) and helped me feel better that it's a process and it will get better. We may have to tweak the estrogen Patches a few times until we get the right dosage. Anyone else had this issue? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I can't believe you're back at work already!! I'm so tired I can barely take a shower without falling over! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. My surgery was Wednesday. Had quite a bit of nausea but think it was due to the dilaudid they were giving me for pain. First real dayof trying to get all the Protein in and it's hard to do! It's nice knowing I'm not alone on this journey and other folks are having similar issues! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Mine went well. Stayed am extra night in hospital due to extreme dy heaving, but figured out it was the dilaudid. Some pain and soreness right now. Trying to drink my liquidd. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Mine was on Wednesday. Went well but ended up staying an extra night due to dry heaving. Luckily, we were able to figure out it was ghe dilaudid. Got home today and besides some pain, so far so good Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Mine is tomorrow, as well. Have been trying not to panic for most of the day. I keep telling myself that everything will be ok and that I'm on my way to feeling better. Good luck to everyone with a surgery date tomorrow! Let's check back in with each other when we can! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Dub, you've been a lifesaver for me today. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and I've almost talked myself out of it 100 times. Reading how well it went for you and how you're eating normal foods (just less of it) and seeing how it looks like you feel so much better puts me a little more at peace. Keep up the weight loss and the great sense of humor!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. Thank you for the comments and support. It's nerve-wracking. I had no issues when ot came to my hysterectomy due to the pain I was in, but this one, for some reason, has me more nervous. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Sleeve currently scheduled for 10/26. I keep thinking that I can do this on my own and I'm a wimp for needing surgery to eat healthier and feel better, even though I've tried and tried with minimal success. I was doing ok until about 3 years ago when I had a hysterectomy. After that, the weight PILED back on and it was like I couldn't do anything to stop it. I'm very nervous about the side effects I'm reading about....dumping syndrome, vomiting (I'm terrified of puking and panic when I do or someone else does - probably a phobia but undiagnosed LOL, so this isn't making me feel excited about the surgery), GERD getting worse, and other issues I read about. I'm also a little nervous about trying to eat around my family. I come from a southern group where food is everything, so it'll be interesting. It's helped to read the comments from folks who have gone through it and I'm keeping my pre-op appt to sign the surgical waivers. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
