  1. Sorry, had my RNY done at St. Mary Mercy in Livonia on 20 Oct 2016. Dr. Roberts is a fantastic surgeon.
  2. I have heard that liposuction actually hurts to have it done.
  3. Thanks for posting that article. It is interesting. I was/am a type 2 diabetes patient. I was on two different types of insulin and Metformin. Since my RNY, I am off both types of insulin but I am on 250 mg of Metformin 2 times a day. I can't wait to hopefully be off of it for good one day.
  4. I did not have any pain meds after my surgery. I was sore and it did hurt when I coughed but it was nothing that I couldn't handle. My surgeon and all the nurses in the hospital were surprised that I didn't want the pain meds. I think that each person is different and thus their level of pain that they can take. You may surprise yourself and you may not need the meds.
  5. This will be my first Holiday since my surgery. I will be 5 weeks post op on Thanksgiving Day. I know that it will be hard on me but I will focus on my goal an keep the willpower up so that I don't overeat, eat too fast or eat what I am not supposed to. Thank you Alex for the words of encouragement and suggestions to make it easier.
  6. I was at GNC the other day and I saw Quest Chips and thought to myself that Quest makes good protein bars so they must make good Chips. I bought a box ($17.00) and have never been so disgusted in all my life. I have learned my lesson to try them before you buy them.
  7. I saw a small stand alone sign at my surgeon's office. That is the only reason I found out about this site. The amount of SPAM seems to be small and other than one member (beating a dead horse) complaining that he was unfairly kicked off the site, everyone seems to be pretty friendly. Thank you for putting this site together.
  8. I agree about the video, but only if the patient wants to see it. I think it should be a video of your surgeon performing the surgery that you are going to have.
  9. Maybe you should be talking to your doctor about that. I have not had that happen to me at all. I am 5 weeks post op (Thanksgiving Day).
  10. Great job. Keep up the fantastic work.
  11. Very good. It seems funny to be losing weight. I got so used to the fact that it was almost impossible to lose weight being on insulin.
  12. I hope everything goes well for you today. Stay positive, stay strong and we will see you on the of surgery.
  13. For me it is walking. If I don't walk twice a day I feel horrible.
  14. Thank you. I see they are on sale for Black Friday ay Macy's. I have been on the fence about it, but I think I am going to get it.
  15. Does anyone have a NutraNinja Duo? I am thinking of getting one but I don't know if it is worth the money. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  16. Just completed my 30 day post op with my surgeon. He said I am doing great and officially have zero restrictions. I am very happy. Next checkup will be my 90 day on 19 Jan 2017. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. Those look good. I may have to make a trip to Wallyworld tonight. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  18. I get that with my powder I buy at GNC. I drink it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  19. I just can't get into yogurt. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  20. It hurt for the first week or so but never enough to take pain pills. I was driving myself on day three (even though I wasn't supposed to for 2 weeks) and I was feeling like my old self on the second week. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  21. The only reason that I did it is because I am running for a State level position with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Stories would spread if I was rapidly loosing weight without some sort of explanation. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  22. I did post op but just to let everyone know that I was fine and just had minor surgery. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  23. I slept on my sides the day of Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  24. Funny thing is that my armpits are itching like crazy. I didn't think that it might be an allergy. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
