  1. First off: i haven’t been on in forever...so i hope everyone is well.

2 NSV’s just happened...one i took a pic with no Spanx or shape wear and actually didn’t hate it. (my face still looks like shit but who cares)

Secondly, i made my bestie do tcx and insanity with me back to back at my local gym and we didn’t die 🤣🤣🤣

  2. I think it partialy depends on why you had a revision if that makes sense.

In my case i was revised from a sleeve to a one anastomosis bypass. But lost all my weight with my sleeve and did not regain, it was purely for reflux. So i don’t know if i will lose more or not. I would assume that if you had more to lose and did the whole back to basics thing, then you would lose the remaining weight.

  3. You will definitely get through all of that. And i think with the right foundation you will get over the whole missing food thing too, you’ll eventually in time get to a point where you realize it’s not that serious.

Did you have to talk to a therapist during your pre-op stuff? Circle back with them and see if they can help. It’s all just mental, good luck.

  4. First time around i took 1 week off (i was totally fine by day 5)
Second time around i took a week off and i was actually fine by day 2, no pain what so ever- just tired the first two days.

Now everyone is different. It depends on so many things like pain tolerance, how you react to anesthesia, age, kind of work you do, whether you had past surgeries.

I’m young, never had anything done before or any additional heath issues, no scar tissue and i have a gov job so for me it was easier than others experiences.

  5. I reward/ spoil myself all the time, probably more than i should but who cares it’s part of that whole self love thing right?

    Pedicures/ gel manicures
    Nice handbags
    Pretty dresses
About once per year or every other year i temporarily lose my mind and trade my car in for something cuter.
    Vacation
You name it- i’ll do it. I’m all about non food rewards.
I wanted to treat myself to some plastics too, but i just don’t need it.

  6. Don’t do it lol. It won’t fit when you think you’re ready.

I remember i had this super cute summer dress that was a size medium from years ago. I told myself i just wanted to lose enough weight to fit into it. Fast forward to this past summer, i found it while moving and tried it on. It literally fell right off me and on to the floor. Not even my big old flotation devices could hold that dress up.

  7. LONG POST ALERT- sorry. Please read it, hope it helps.

Aww you sound like my best friends situation, so i’m going to give suggestions just as if i was talking to her. I hope it helps and isn’t to harsh, also feel free to send me a pm if you need to.

    1. Plan. Just like how you plan out your school stuff, plan out your meals and your workout schedule. It will help. You can’t eat what you don’t have so if that means you have to pack healthy low carb Snacks and order groceries online, then do so.

    2. Write things down, whether it’s in my fitness pal, notes section of your phone or an actual food log. Visually see how you eat to hold yourself accountable.

    3. Don’t do a “diet” because those are all temporary focus on getting in tons of Protein first and you will be to full for junk. Obviously you know to watch your carbs and sugars so no need to repeat that.

    4. Meditate- this is mental. Clear your mind and relax

    5. Find a workout buddy or coach to help you stay active and even when you aren’t working out, stay busy. Don’t eat in front of the tv, no grazing or snacking, try to stick to 4 smaller meals per day.

    6. Therapy- it works wonders and it’s not scary. It will help you overcome the mental aspect of things and help with the self image part of things. Sounds like you’re in the middle of a slight depression, talking to someone can help so much. Many of us (including myself have had to do so)

    7. Prioritize- focus strictly on this and school. Worry about men later. Trust me they will always be there, there’s like billions of them on the planet. Date yourself first and do what you love so your confidence improves first. That confidence does NOT come from validation from some guy. You’ll meet the right guy in due time, there’s no rush.

Water- when you think about food always have Water first. Then eat later.

Only do workouts you love- this journey truly is 70% diet, 30% exercise. But it is all about 100% consistency. So do things to be consistent. Create a routine for yourself.

You’re soooo driven in all other aspects of your life so i know that you can handle this too. Also realize how far you’ve come. You have lost a ton of weight already and wear that crown proudly!! Tell your self positive affirmations each and every day and practice self care because that is 100% part of self love.

Somewhere in the archives there is a rant from a long time ago, when i first joined that lists a ton of tips i used to mentor my local support group and trust me everything may not be for you, but it will definitely help. Read over it and find what works for you. This is YOUR journey, you’re a strong bad ass and you’re in control of it. Best of luck to you!

  8. What procedure did you have?

So you just had surgery so any bm is a good thing, most don’t have one until they start eating again. Blood in your stool is definitely not normal so call your surgeon and just ask what that could mean.

The reason why i asked what procedure is because usually you hear about the runs with bypass and ds patients, not so much the sleeve. Sleevers tend to either be normal or constipated.

I will say with most people it almost always goes away with time, so good luck.

  9. I would say skip online dating and have fun. You’ll meet some of the most amazing people unexpectedly just by doing hobbies you love. I accidentally met the love of my life after wls that way. I’m not against online dating or anything, i guess my suggestion would be- take some time to date your self instead of going into it with a full blown purpose if that makes sense. Who knows, you may even meet your match randomly at whole foods or the gym or something.

Sorry you’re going through that hun, view it as the right door closing and a better one about to open. 💖

  10. Yes- i did! I had my revision friday and i feel freaking amazing!!! I’m wishing you all the best of luck.

I was in the same boat as you in the sense that i workout hard core religiously 5 days per week and i’m like the poster child in my local area for how to eat post op, but even i had severe reflux. Shit happens. It got to the point where i honestly didn’t even care if i drank sparkling Water because i ended up with reflux anyway by avoiding that.

So i did not have bypass, i had the one anastomosis bypass which is different. It’s rare and i’m actually literally the first person in my state to even have that done. So we’ll see how it compares, but so far i can say that it is definitely very very different from my sleeve.

You will be so much happier once the reflux goes away. All the best to you.

  11. So update- i had it done friday and the 1 anastomosis definitely feels different, but in a good way, sort of.

Like no reflux- yay!!!! (I’m over here happy dancing lol)

I let my surgeon experiment with a new operating tool, i have no clue if that added to my recovery or not, but i feel completely normal if that makes sense. The day of i was tired but not really in pain, it was so weird my appetite was still there so i was pissed that i couldn’t even have Water.

The second day- the appetite kind of slowed down a little but when they gave me water i was so shocked that i’m drinking it normally exactly as i was before. The second day i still wasn’t in pain but i could definitely feel that did something, but it wasn’t uncomfortable at all. I was just so ready to go home and lay in my own bed. (I stopped all pain meds by day 2)

Now that it’s been a few days- i’m so over this whole juice thing. I’m not used to it so the day i’m allowed to eat something not sweet will be heaven lol. I feel exactly the same as before, i’m honestly wishing i could go back to work tomorrow.

I was fortunate enough to meet someone else who had the same procedure and she said that it feels different from a regular bypass or sleeve. She said that when you eat something you aren’t supposed to, you don’t get sick right away- it’s more like delayed dumping. She did say that she can eat and drink normally with no issues and even do so at the same time. She also said that there is no uncomfortable feeling in your throat like the sleeve if you eat to fast or drink to fast which is good. But we’ll see if i experience that too.
