    Self-Destructing Path?

I wouldn't suggest that. Once you are sleeved you won't miss food in the beginning anyway. So if you're already in the routine of having good habits, keep it that way. If you really want a burger or something, make it yourself so it's healthy. I use a brand called laura's lean beef.
  2. Well the weight loss depends on where you're starting. The smaller you are the slower you will lose. Stalls happen to everyone and yes they do pass. I would suggest taking your measurements. And also start a food/ exercise diary. See what you're eating and try switching up your workouts. It could be something as simple as increasing your protein and water intake too. It's trial and error.
  3. Hey!!! I live in md. I can name several good ones. There's dr. Brebbia and dr. Juliette Lee. If you send me a private message i'll gladly share more info if needed. And yes you can change your team after surgery, just like you can change your pcp at any time.
  4. I think that's a realistic goal and you'll definitely get there.
  5. My bestie has asked me to ask this because she's not in the group. She just wants to have an idea of what her goals should be. She's 6ft and a size 26/28 currently and she's interested in the sleeve. For those of you who started around that same size, what dress size did you get down to?
  6. I'm always looking for awesome besties [emoji4]

    Wls body shamers smh

That is so true!!! In the beginning the weight really was flying off like everyone else. But once i hit 180ish i really had to work my ass off for every pound lost afterwards. The second half of the weight loss was a lot slower.
  9. It's the greatest invention of all time. It allows you to make wings and fried chicken without the guilt, calories or fat. Literally my favorite thing.
  10. Me too! Go for it! I want a massive tatoo on my back done by a famous tatoo artist....but yet i'm terrified of needles lol.
  11. See i'm the opposite. Nyc is 4 hours away from me and i'm dying to visit australia's gold coast! Great goal!
  12. Hi and welcome!!!! I'm so excited for you to be starting your journey, don't be nervous. (Fyi: you can post wherever and whenever you want, it's a tool for you to get all the information you need) I can really only answer your second question. I think for the first question consult a bariatric surgeon in your area or even your pcp. I do know that the liquid protein diet with help shrink the fatty liver. We all have to do that anyway in order to get the surgeon to do the surgery. I would imagine that a bariatric surgeon will want you to wait until you turn 18 for the surgery. Some might consider doing it a little sooner with parental consent but i doubt it. Yes you would still qualify for surgery given your current height and weight. In the meantime i would suggest use this group and other online bariatric support groups to learn more about the process as a whole. That way when it's time for your surgery you will be completely comfortable and you'll know exactly what you want to do for your body. For example: this gives you time to research the differences between the sleeve, bypass and lapband and decide which would be best for you. It will give you an idea of how you will be eating post op etc. Best of luck to you!!! Feel free to ask any other questions and if you ever feel like you need more support privately most of us are fine with people sending us private messages with questions. We're all here to help. -jodi

    Opinions to stop losing weight

Yes i get told this daily. I ignore them and keep going to the gym. I secretly just give them the finger in my head and keep moving. I don't see how someone who isn't a medical professional or dietician can think they're a weight expert so their opinion doesn't mean anything to me. I'm not even at my goal yet. I think they just see you looking so different or your dress size is so dramatically different that they need to adjust their perception of you in their mind. In other words they used to view me as fat, now that i'm a normal sized person they seem to think i'm to thin or have an eating disorder when i don't.
  15. Sounds strange to say but i didn't know what options were available to me. Before this i've only ever heard of bypass and the lap band. I wasn't nervous about the actual surgery. I was more scared of being obese forever and the health issues that comes with that later on. Once i found out about the sleeve, i was like "when can i do this? Tell what i have to do, let's get it over with"
  16. No. In my mind i was like "who gives a ****, take out my stomach, make me skinny, have a nice day lol" i don't need to be besties with the man. I literally only need to know that he knows how to do his job. Fortunately i haven't had any complications. Obviously if your surgeon makes your overly nervous or uncomfortable, pick another one. I interviewed 4 surgeons in my area. I was fine with two of them, but one had unnecessary extra fees, and another was close to my house so i went with that one.
  17. I freaking love the food police and tbh i am my own officer now. Now that i eat well i don't mind and it keeps me in track because i really dont need certain foods. If i didn't have that support, i would probably still be fat and that's not fun.
  18. Congrats hun!!! That's awesome
  19. My nutritionist/ surgeon said that you never feel hungry and you'll have new signs of fullness. Those are both very true statements- but i wish they would have told me that those both go away after awhile it's not permanent. So you really do have to portion everything out and only do your 3 meals or 6 meals or whatever in order to prevent regaining. I also obviously knew about silder foods and that they were bad for me. Nobody told me that those foods you will be able to eat way more than 3 oz of them though. And that there are certain healthy foods that you can eat way more of like salads.
  20. I always knew i was to big. But because of how i carry my weight i always got the "you're not big, you're super curvy" comments so i got lazy and never did anything about it. Then one day i just felt like screw it, this is to much weight for my body. So i had my surgery and i feel so much better.
  21. I swear by my vitamix and ninja because i love smoothies when i crave sweets i just add protein to it. I use my croc pot and air fryer all the time too.
