    Abdominal fat?

I would just do home workouts like crunches, planks, mountain climbers, burpees, leg lifts etc. do them every morning when you wake up.
  2. Do it!!! But wait at least a month post op so your body can rest.

Keto vs paleo??? Have you ever tried it?

I find this interesting. My nutritionist is always pushing low fat high protein diets. But it seems like most people have better long term success with just a low carb diet.

Keto vs paleo??? Have you ever tried it?

Was it hard for you to give up dairy? I think whole30 says no dairy. And that's hard for me.

Keto vs paleo??? Have you ever tried it?

So question for all of you: what are your macros? Regardless of whether you're doing a modified paleo, keto or whole30. How many calories do you eat on average? Proteins etc? I did a keto calculator online but obviously that's geared towards someone with a regualr sized stomach, so i was just curious.@williamrjomes2@clementine sky

You're actually like the 5th person this week to tell me about whole30, which means i definitely need to try it.@williamrjomes2

Oh wow, you made paleo look super easy.

Keto vs paleo??? Have you ever tried it?

I'm definitely going to look into whole30. Thank you. Do you still do paleo or keto?

So now i'm completely fascinated by you. I might send you a private message with a few questions. What was the name of the youtuber that you found? And when you have dairy do you eat the full fat version or the low fat version? What is your idea of limiting carbs? I can totally do no carbs but occasionally i might crave a quesadilla or overnight oats and i need to make sure i don't blow up like a balloon after. You have no idea how helpful you are right now, thanks a million!!! Sorry for playing 21 questions btw.

    Ketogenic diet post sleeve?

I actually just posted about this topic too not realizing this post existed. I think keto is a great idea provided that you're truly disciplined with what you eat. Keto isn't low protein, you would still get in all your daily protein needs. It is higher fat (healthy fats only) and it does mean no carbs and no sugar. Which most of us are trying to do anyway. I know someone who did keto (he did not have wls surgery and he lost 60 pounds in 4 months) he loved it because he got to eat eggs and bacon and chicken thighs and beef etc. he felt full and never deprived. He said it's easy to stick to. I'm planning on trying it myself.

Thoughts on Intermittent Fasting Post Op

I wouldn't suggest it. Personally i think it's harder to do. I think it's best to just eat only when hungry.

Keto vs paleo??? Have you ever tried it?

@clementine sky i'm glad you liked paleo. You made a good point about keto, i wasn't sure how it would work if i stopped. I wasn't sure if i would re-gain or not. I think for me personally keto might be easier for me to follow than paleo. But that's just because i prefer dark meat and i can do without starchy veggies etc. i plan on trying it, not sure if i will be able to stick to it long term. My fear for either plan is what happens if once in a blue moon i eat carbs or grains, will i blow up or have a reaction? Idk. But thanks for your insight, i found it really helpful.

    Sipping

Of course there will be. Just be patient. Everyone will be able to at different times. I was able to almost a month post op, some people took longer more like 6 months post op, but you'll get there. Just try really hard to always avoid eating and drinking at the same time. For me that can still be painful at times.
  14. My dr and dietician say i should eat 3 meals per day. But all my sleeve friends have told me they eat 6 mini meals/ snacks per day. Which one do you do? And why does that work better for you?
  15. Specifically has anyone been sleeved and had to have the bypass after? If so, why? Was it because of complications like excess reflux or stomach stretching? Did it work for you?
  16. That's what i was thinking. I never really had a problem with GERD right after surgery but now that it's been a while, my reflux is going crazy. And i feel like i can eat more than i should be able to. (I try not to) So i'm going to talk to my surgeon about my options.

    Bypass Vs. Sleeve?

I had the same question when i started. Nobody can answer that for you except you. I had the sleeve in december and i'm glad i did it. I chose the sleeve for myself because it's less risk and permanent. I will say this, because you don't have as many side effects as bypass, i would only suggest the sleeve if you are mentally strong enough to give up certain foods forever. If you chose the bypass you could possibly end up with dumping syndrome which will prevent you from eating crap. Because nobody wants to go through dumping, but since that doesn't really happen with the sleeve you have to have the will power to walk away from foods that you don't need. You'll decide what's best for you in time. Ultimately you will lose about the same amount of weight in the end, regardless of what you choose to have. Congrats on starting your journey. Best of luck to you. Looking forward to seeing you on the loser's bench.
  18. What are some of your favorite recipe ideas post op? What do you love to make both for breakfast, snacks and dinner? I'm running out of creative ideas since my appetite is gone. I'll try anything new. Also, what do you eat on days when you don't feel like cooking?

    What are you guys eating???

Nope. 6 months. I can eat whatever i want, i just get very bored easily. As soon as i make something i no longer want it. I just need new recipe ideas to keep mixing things up.

@introversion that sounds yummy, i'm going to try some of those, thanks!

How to survive post op clear liquid diet?

Well you shouldn't be feeling hungry this early on, so it's probably all mental. (I went through that) I ignored people and social functions for a few weeks, and turned off the tv during commercials that had to do with food. During this time i found it easier for me to do ready to drink shakes over the kind i had to mix due to texture, and i ate lots of popsicles and sugar free pudding.
  22. I'm officially down 60 pounds. Today is my 4 month sleeve anniversary. I can't believe i did it. 35 more until i hit my goal. I found out on this journey that i really love weight lifting and boxing. I also found out that healthy eating isn't as bad as i thought it would be. I'm loving my new lifestyle. I don't know why i didn't do this sooner.
  23. Thank you all!!! I learned a lot from your responses. And i learned that i don't need to waste money on collagen pills.

    Finally found a winner!!!

    yeah, here you go.
  25. Mine has been very supportive....up until now. Now that i'm losing tons of weight, he's starting to become a little insecure. I think he thinks i would leave him for someone better and i never would.
