Thank you Are there any foods that don't agree with your new stomach? I've heard that meat/dairy sometimes don't agree. Sorry for the random question-- I'm trying to learn all that I can.
Anything else you feel is important that I know?

Thank you for your kind words!!! I'm excited but terrified. Lol. There are a lot of changes in my future and I'm trying to prepare myself, but I don't think that's completely possible. I'm hoping that my story is like yours-where I LOVE my decision. My biggest fear at the moment is that I'll regret it. I'm trying to think positive and know that the benefits outweigh almost anything else.

Hi everybody!! I'm new here, and I have a mini-gastric bypass scheduled for Nov. 24th (Thanksgiving day!) and I would love to hear from some people who've had the procedure.
I was originally going for a sleeve, but they recommended that I NOT get a sleeve due to some acid reflux problems that I have, so they suggested this instead, and to be honest it's got me worried. I don't know nearly as much about it, simply because I haven't had as much time to research.
Nearly everything I've read has been positive, but I have seen a few things regarding the possibility of stomach cancer down the line... (definitely worrisome) as well as the possibility of worsening reflux, even with this procedure.
So any and all information is appreciated. (Sorry if I'm rambling, my mind is racing... lol)

I wasn't trying to be nasty. Someone else mentioned beer and I mentioned the carbonation. You asked how people felt and I said that it makes people sick. Hot damn that got nasty quick. Best of luck to you.

Yeah, what @@Babbs said. For those of us with long term weight issues, even the best supervised weight loss programs have a very low long-term success rate. Another round of yo-yo weight changes messes with body's weight set point at the hormonal level. If you take care of the emotional issues, along with this tool, your chances for long-term success jump from 5% to over 40%. @@pvechiola please take a look at this: http://theweightofthenation.hbo.com/films/main-films/Choices And the younger the better as far as skin sag and less damage to our joints and organs.

Uh, weight loss surgery isn't just for old people, you know. Sometimes it's the best option, no matter what your age.
What a silly thing to say?

I'm exactly one week postop. And now I'm having knee pains in both knees.
I've NEVER had knee pains before. What is this??
Has anybody else experienced this? Does it go away, or is it here to stay?

    Hi!!
My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 24th. And I'm wondering what kind of foods you guys typically find easiest to bring to work with you and eat at your desk post-op. During ALL stages. Lol. Clear Liquids, full liquids, mushies, puréed...etc.
I'm just trying to plan ahead how I'm going to get my Protein in while I'm at work.
Also, what Protein powders or supplements do you recommend? Is dairy free best?
    Thank you!!
