  1. I mean if he was already in the extracting my wisdom teeth then there had to be a way to take out that darn sweet tooth! Lol So I am the person that silently throws darts at the person in the room that says "I have never been big on sweets" I'm always like "Dude, did your mother make you suck on lines with your Similac?" Well I'm trying to cut back and off of sweets. My pre-opp appointment is next Monday so I'm sure I'm going to be told when my "new normal" eating should begin. I just don't want to shock my system but slowly ease into not eating sweets ever again in life. But today I am struggling and it's the first day that I'm starting. Yeah Breakfast was a bust. IHOP French toast. lunch was Soup and dinner is stew but I really want to go to 7 Eleven and grab a "Big Kat" kit kat bar!!! What can you guys tell me on how to deal with this? How bad can dumping be? I mean I've been dumping my whole life is it nothing like what they talk about? Any vets out there? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I haven't had my surgery yet however I remember an article I once read said something about Protein and Fiber determining the color of your stool. May be true or false but I would definitely call my doctor. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  4. Hi everyone! I up at 3:30 and must be to work at 8 AM! But I can't sleep. My surgery date was originally for February 1st but scheduling conflict it was changed to the 6th. I freaked out on having the Sleeve and called to ask if I can have the Bypass instead. Well they are working in making that change and hoping I can still keep my original date. I am 240 lbs at 5'5 I have sleep apnea, PCOS and Fibromyalgia not to mention rheumatoid arthritis.... I just turned 40!!!!! This extra weight has had me out and about at the mall and worried about how I'm going to make it to my car because I am so out of breath. I have had my big friends and family tell me I'm not that big. I'm taking the easy way out. But then one admitted to wanting to do it as well after baby #4 and a coworker who frowned and said all the negative wanted to know how it all worked with our insurance because she was thinking about having it. I have also had supportive family members who just don't know what to say other than "you are going to be skinny!" My boss is all of 100 lbs wet at 4'11 and she is so dead set against it because I'm not that big. She has said this so much that I have stopped wearing a spanx to work! Now she blames it in everything I think I want to eat! She's all about herbal medicine. Meanwhile I'm worried about if I can take Cymbalta with the Bypass or should I go back to the Sleeve? I'm worried about losing my hair... I have dread locs! The last thing I need is to look like Stevie Wonder!!!Lol But I do know that I want this surgery! I just don't know which one to have. It feels like Election Day 2008 all over again!!!! Lol Ok I'm getting sleepy but advice is welcomed.... thank you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can I lie - hernia op?

See I have a boss and then her boss. Her boss I'm really close with. She didn't ask reasons why but I told her because we are close. She was very supportive and understanding. I was detailed with my direct supervisor and she's trying to get me to cancel surgery and take Garden of Life Vitamins instead of surgery. She's 4"11 and weighs all of 98lbs wet! I wish I had of went with the hernia story. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. I have BCBS PPO of Michigan. I went to the intro class that was very informative. My insurance required me to have 6 months of meeting with my PCP and her discussing the surgery with me (she really just gave her opinion but she agreed to submit a letter on my behalf of the surgery) I have been her patient for 14 years so she's seen my struggle of the Yoyo dieting and the aches and pains I deal with. I'm 5'5 240 lbs but I also have sleep apnea, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure and PCOS....but the insurance company only cared about the sleep apnea, the BMI (they wanted 40 but I was at 39.5 but the sleep apnea diagnoses gave me .5 Lol) and my doctors consent and a psych eval. Call your insurance company and they will tell you what all is covered and what is required and copay amounts before you start. That's what I did. I have my psych Eval next weekend and I'm ready. Best of wishes to you lady!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
