  1. I have lost 25 pounds in 3 weeks. I am having so many issues with food. I hate the taste of every thing. Then when I drink the shakes or soup I vomit them up. I will say that I do have regular bm, I am no longer on blood pressure or diabete meds, and I no longer need my sleep apnea machine. Today I have actually started to add fitness to the mix. My start weight was 274, Surgery weight 250, and I weight 225 this past Thursday.

    Unsupportive fiance

I am sorry for your lack of support. I only had my surgery on the 13th...but I can tell you the most important thing is support. I have two people in my intimate circle and then I faithfully go to my local support group at times I think about dropping support...but the one thing I have noticed....the most successful people I know of doing this has been going to support, and really dedicated to making the life changes. I wish you luck, I promise no matter what anyone claims... it is not the easy way out, and allows you to obtain a healthier longer life.
  3. I had mine on the 13, things have been going well. I had a complete hysterectomy and bypass then same morning. I have not had issues with nausea or pain. I have been off pain medications since after my surgery. I did have an issue with beef broth, with cause some issues. I have had zero draining from any wounds as of yet. My biggest complaint is my thirst, the ability to smell better than a bloodhound.
  4. I hope to hear about your journey more. My surgery is set for tomorrow at 6am
  5. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if there are any practicing vegetarians in the group? During my pre-surgery exams, I was diagnosis with cancer. I was told adopting a vegetarian would be the best for my health. I know that eating a plant based diet is healthy but was not sure if you could eat enough plant-base to meet Protein requirements. Are you easily meeting the protein requirements the by-pass needs? Do you use extra supplements? Any issues you experience in doing this? Thank you.
